FOCUS
Whenever someone experiences something amazing, it’s usually not too long after whatever it was that they’re telling others about it … in scripture we find the Samaritan women at Jacob’s Well going back to the town she was from & telling everyone ”Come, see a man who told me everything I ever did.
Could this be the Messiah?”
Or Philip going to & telling Nathaniel “We have found the one Moses wrote about in the law: Jesus the son of Joseph, from Nazareth.”
Or the man born blind after Jesus healed him saying “I’m the one” when those who’d only know him blind said, “Isn’t this the one who used to sit begging?” & “No, but he looks like him.”
Today we’re looking at John chapter 9.
The entire chapter is dedicated to this one sign / miracle.
It’s a clear picture of what God desires & can do for everyone.
When It Comes to Being Able to See …
1. God’s granting of physical sight is eye opening indeed.
When Jesus healed this man’s blindness, it wasn’t just his eyes that were opened that day.
/ John 9:1-41
2. everyone is born needing God to give them the sight they need.
No one can see what truly matters most until God gives them the ability to do so.
Luke 24:16 & 30-35 / Ephesians 1:18-19
Making It Real
1] Can you see God having His way is some what like a two-edged sword in that
some people are very thrilled by it while others are very confused & upset by it?
2] What’s your story of Jesus opening your eyes?
When did you first really see Him?
Action Step
Write down your story of where, when & how it was that you first really saw Him.
