Preparing for Battle
Over the last several weeks we have taken a close look at exactly who our enemy is, what their capabilities are and are not. God gives us clear, concise information on this subject.
Now we are going to look at scripture to see how we should prepare for the battle.
Eph 6:10-11
FINALLY?! Let’s look back for context.
Finally! Be Strong in the Lord
“You shall therefore keep every commandment which I am commanding you today, so that you may be strong and go in and possess the land into which you are about to cross to possess it;
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not tremble or be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.”
Joshua then said to them, “Do not fear or be dismayed! Be strong and courageous, for thus the LORD will do to all your enemies with whom you fight.”
In the strength of His Might!
The World tells us:
Ephesians 1:19
19 and what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe. These are in accordance with the working of the strength of His might
1 Peter 4:11
11 Whoever speaks, is to do so as one who is speaking the utterances of God; whoever serves is to do so as one who is serving cby the strength which God supplies; so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belongs the glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.
Verse 11 Put on the full armor!
Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil.
PUT! Another action word......
Philippians 1:27
27 Only conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or remain absent, I will hear of you that you are standing firm in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel;
Philippians 4:1
1 Therefore, my beloved brethren whom I long to see, my joy and crown, in this way stand firm in the Lord, my beloved
1 Thessalonians 3:8
