· They were having a discussion of “the last few days” when Jesus arrived (14-15)

· V22-23 they were told of Jesus’ resurrection and were still troubled and sad when he showed up.

· Perhaps they were distracted by their focus on the past and his death and not focusing on the promise and report of his resurrection.

Luke 24:32 Their hearts burned. Greek term often used for a torch or lighting a candle/lamp. Their hearts were ignited by him and for him. Fire shut up in my bones

|We need to have our focus on Jesus and his eternal purpose and call over our lives|

Jesus’ face was towards Jerusalem! So much so that Samaria rejected him. He was focused on the call and purpose. Luke 9:53

Hebrews 12:1-2 Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is et before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God. Don’t get caught up in the mundaneness of life, you’ve got an eternal purpose in Jesus Christ!
