Mt 5:41 ““Whoever forces you to go one mile, go with him two.”
We have heard the saying before. Going the extra mile. Which means for one to sacrifice our self comfort for others. We do this out of love for others. We go the extra mile for brethren, for our spouses, and most importantly for God.
John 13:34-35 ““A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another. “By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.””
The love we have for our brethren is shown through our actions. How can we show love for one another?
Encouraging one another
Through service
In Kingdom working
In study
helping one another
Using whatever gifts we have, helping to move, financial, or just being available to talk
Ephesians 5:25 “Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her,”
Husbands must show the sacrificial love that Christ showed the Church.
Hebrews 10:25 “not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near.”
We are commanded to meet on the first day of the week. However, we aren’t just limited to one time per week.
We can serve our brethren, our spouses and God as much as we want to. We have Bible studies that the brethren would be encouraged if more would come.
