Grace in the Old Testament

The Lord shows grace towards His people in the Old Testament. A common way of describing human graciousness toward another person is “to find favor in [their] eyes.”

Genesis 6:8 But Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord.

Grace the unmerited favor of God

Ps 30:5 For his anger is but for a moment, and his favor is for a lifetime. Weeping may tarry for the night, but joy comes with the morning.

Pr 3:34 Toward the scorners he is scornful, but to the humble he gives favor.
