I. Reference to “Somebody prayed for me”
a. We recognize mama prayed and grandmama prayed
b. But the somebody in the song gives indication that somebody was praying for me when I didn’t even know it.
II. Moses goes up to get the law from God while he is away – left the assistant pastor in charge
a. Sheep weren’t meant to be shepherds – don’t always know what to do
III. God tells Moses get down
a. God said I’m tired of them and leave me alone – after all I’ve done for them
b. The tension in the text tells me that God is provoking Moses to prayer
c. Moses is somebody who starts praying
i. The Israelites are too busy worshipping their idol but aren’t you glad while you were doing what you were doing...
IV. When you pray put God in remembrance of His word
a. Moses’ prayer was according to God’s will – His prayer didn’t cause God to change course from what He had already willed to do
V. It’s our turn to be “somebody” Close: Moses/Jesus as mediator
