Ezekiel 18

Ezekiel 18:2: Parable- condensed but memorable saying embodying some important fact of experience that is taken as true by many people.
Ezekiel 18:2: c.f. Lamentations 5:7, Jeremiah 31:29. The reference to “being set on edge” means their teeth are dull.
Ezekiel 18:3-4: The congregation of believers is told that they will no longer be held accountable for the fathers of their fathers as in the exile. Rather, the person that sins will be held responsible for their own sins.
