Values and Value Systems

In terms of popular psychology = Lifestyle choices and Self-worth
In terms of ethics = “axiology”
Definition of axiology
the study of the nature, types, and criteria of values and of value judgments [Merriam-Webster]
borrowed from Greek axíōw "honor, honored status, prestige, that which is considered worthy”
In mathematics or logic, an axiom is an unprovable rule or first principle accepted as true because it is self-evident or particularly useful. “Nothing can both be and not be at the same time and in the same respect” It should be contrasted with a theorem, which requires a rigorous proof.
Definition of axiom
an established rule or principle or a self-evident truth [Merriam-Webster]

MAYO CLINIC “HEALTHY LIFESTYLE CHOICES” 1. Eat nourishing food. 2. Sleep seven to eight hours a night. 3. Keep company with good people
people you enjoy / who radiate positivity / have similar interests
4. Avoid news overdose.
News is too frequently bombarded with stories of suffering. These stories can skew your view of the world and cause you to focus on your worst fears, instead of recognizing the good that surrounds you.
5. Get regular exercise. 150 minutes of weekly activity r 6. Do something meaningful each day.
What you feel passionate about / a special talent that you’d like to practice more often or share / something that you enjoy every day = utilize and reserve your energy in ways that will bring out the best in you
7. Think good thoughts for others. Maintaining a compassionate mindset For example, try to make eye contact with a stranger and smile, while thinking “I wish you well.” Judging others can cause us to place judgment on ourselves, and that type of negative internal dialogue can be exhausting.
