Ephesians 6:4 KJV 1900
And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.
Executives of a greeting-card company decided to do something special for Mother’s Day. They set up a table in a federal prison, inviting inmates to send a free card to their Mom. The lines were so long they had to to get more cards.
Due to the success of that event, they decided to do the same thing on Father’s Day, but this time, not one prisoner felt the need to send a card to his Dad. In fact, when asked about it, many had no idea who their fathers were.
Have you looked around our country recently? America is in deep water morally. For the first time in our history there are more unmarried households than married, and divorce is a real problem in our world. More and more children are being reared in single parent homes. Too many children in our country are living without the guidance and direction of their fathers.
The statistics of the negative effects on children reared in these kinds of homes are alarming. According to statistical facts state these are a results of homes without fathers:
60% of America’s rapists are fatherless
63% of America’s youth suicides are fatherless
70% of America’s long-term prison inmates
70% of America’s reform school attendees
71% of America’s teenage pregnancies
71% of America’s high school dropouts
72% of America’s adolescent murders
85% of America’s youth prisoners
85% of America’s youth with behavioral disorders
90% of America’s runaways
D.L. Moody said, “A man ought to live so that everybody knows he is a Christian…and most of all, his family ought to know.” Our children easily perceive and constantly discern how seriously we take the things of the Lord. May we be like Joshua who publicly declared:
Joshua 24:15 KJV 1900
And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.
Here are a few things God’s people should be doing:

We Need to pray

James 5:16 KJV 1900
Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
Let’s be men of Prayer. Whether your children are at home or not, or You don’t have any children. Godly men should have a prayer life.
Luke 18:1 KJV 1900
And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;

We Need to Get Right with God

Through having an right prayer life with God we ought to get and keep right with Him as well.
It is hard to lead our families as men when we will not let go of our own pride and sin and get right before the Lord.
Hebrews 11:6 KJV 1900
But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

We Need to Love People

One of the hardest things for a father to say is, “ I Love You.” I think I can count on one hand how many times my father told me that. known that I can remember as a kid. As a result I tell my boys I love them all the time. Some men say or think they know I love them by me taking care of there needs. That isn’t enough. They need to hear us say I love you.
Our families ought to see us loving people. If Christ loves people we should love people as well.
John 13:34 KJV 1900
A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.
We should show that we love God by loving others.

We Need to Work on our Homes and Families.

If you are married, work on your marriage, and make sure you model the truths found in Scripture. Train your children to know and live for God. One of the greatest things I could show my boys is that I love there mom. I let them see me hold her hand and kiss her, Why? because I want to gross them how. No, because I want to teach them how we ought to love and treat a woman. But also to show them Christ.
Ephesians 5:25 KJV 1900
Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;

Pray for Your Pastor and Your Church Leaders

to be people of great faith and credibility.
1 Timothy 2:1–4 KJV 1900
I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

Live in the Light that Christ is Coming Soon

Do you believe the Lord is coming soon? let’s live like it. Let’s raise up Godly Homes and show and tell the world the Love of Christ.
Revelation 22:20 KJV 1900
He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.
We are either part of the solution or we are part of the problem. By God’s grace, let’s be a part of the solution!
