Just as there is rejoicing here when something lost is found, there is more rejoicing in heaven when one sinner repents than when 99 righteous persons who need no repentance. And there is joy among the angels in heaven when a sinner repents. That’s the set up for the last story of three, the parable of the Lost Son.
