I. Who Our Commander Is vs. 13-14a

A. Joshua was facing Jericho. It looked impenetrable and impossible. By all standards it was.
B. This commander is a preincarnate Christ. An angel would not accept worship. Rev. 19:10
Revelation 19:10 NASB95
Then I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, “Do not do that; I am a fellow servant of yours and your brethren who hold the testimony of Jesus; worship God. For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.”
C. Yahweh is not for a particular nation, over another. Had they repented, this wouldn’t have happened. Gen. 15:16
Genesis 15:16 NASB95
“Then in the fourth generation they will return here, for the iniquity of the Amorite is not yet complete.”
D. Rahab is proof of this, they could have repented.

II. What Our Response Should Be vs. 14b-15

A. Joshua worshipped. In our difficulties, we need to worship, even when we don’t feel like it. “To rejoice is a choice”- Adrian Rogers.
B. As Moses took his shoes off on holy ground so should we. Meaning when we have these experiences, we need to be a slave to Jesus. Do what He tells you. Slaves didn’t wear shoes! Yahweh will be with you. Heb. 13:5
Hebrews 13:5 NLT
Don’t love money; be satisfied with what you have. For God has said, “I will never fail you. I will never abandon you.”
