Pray

Give Honor
Over the course of a month or so, we have been on a journey through the book of Mark, and I want to stay in that vain.
Text Mark 5:25-34
Mark 5:25–34 (KJV 1900)
25 And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years, 26 And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse, 27 When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment. 28 For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole. 29 And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague. 30 And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes? 31 And his disciples said unto him, Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me? 32 And he looked round about to see her that had done this thing. 33 But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth. 34 And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.
Intro:
The Gospel according to Mark is one of my favorite books of the Bible. Of the 4 gospels, Mark would be the shortest. The average time it would take to read the book of Mark is about 2 hours. Mark is only 16 chapters, 29 pages long. and a very easy book to read and understand.
Mark paints Jesus as a servant on the move. Mark’s gospel is catered to the Roman church. A busy church. A church on the move. So he writes this book so that a busy people would be able to read and understand it. If Mark was a TV show, Mark would be power, the haves and the have nots, scandal.....the real housewives of.....Mark is an action packed gospel.
And it’s here in the Gospel of Mark, that the writer would confirm Jesus’s Messianic identity, and to call believers to follow the example of Jesus.
Starts Ch. 1 off, by showing how John the Baptist prepares the way for Jesus. It’s even in Chapter 1, where Jesus begins his healing and miracle Ministry.
The bible says that Jesus crossed over the sea and one of the rulers of the synagogue has come to Jesus, fallen at his feet, and asks him to heal his 12 year old daughter, for she was at the point of death.
Right off, the first thing I notcie about this woman is she has an issue, but has no Identity. and I want to give a quick lesson and let you know Never allow your issues, to become your identity. Never allow what people call you, determine what you answer to. Because the truth is, though you have some flaws, your flaws are not who you are. That though you have some things, that you’re embarrased to speak of, that does not make you, a product of that which you go through.
