True faith bears fruit.
Well what does that fruit look like?
How do you live a Christian life?
We could spend years answering that question.
We could talk about the fruit of the Spirit.
Church Membership
We could talk about church membership and belonging to a local body of believers under biblically qualified men to follow Jesus together.
And shameless plug, we make it clear every week.
You cannot obey Christ to the fullest without being a part of a local church.
You can’t follow the one another commands of the NT without knowing who the “one anothers” are or obey God’s command to submit your leaders if you don’t actually have pastors because you’re not a part of a church.
We could talk about how belonging to the church, however that church practices membership is fundamental to your discipleship, because when Jesus gave us the Great Commission to disciple the nations, the best way the apostles thought to do that was planting churches.
If I haven’t been clear, you need to join a church.
I don’t care if its this church.
Listen, I’d love for you to join this church.
We want to reach Northwest Arkansas with the gospel and its going to take every Christian here to do it.
But what I don’t want is for you to come here week after week, month after month, without ever joining because all you are doing is fooling yourself that you belong to a church and stunting your spiritual growth.
A City on a hill gathers together.
Our lights our dim if we are just out there floating in the darkness on our own.
But when we bring those lights together, we shine brighter, and the world gets to see God’s power to save.
So if you want to live a Christian life, your first step is to join this church.
And if you can’t join this church to leave and find a church you can join.
Because I promise you, everything else I’m going to say is irrelevant for your Christian life and carrying out the Great Commission if you’re not part of a church.
Make it priority number one if you want to follow Jesus.
But I don’t want to talk about all that.
Well you just did?
You caught me.
Join a church.
