Because Christ gave everything for us, we can and should give everything for one another.

We ought to give everything for one another

Philippians 2:2 ESV
complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind.
“Complete my joy” - “I can die happy”
being in full accord and of one mind - not bickering, but unity.
Philippians 2:3 ESV
Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves.
What does this actually look like?
Philippians 2:4 ESV
Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.
Selflessness
This is hard stuff- how is it possible?
Philippians 2:5 ESV
Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus,
We will only be able to do this by
looking to Christ’s example
Being empowered by the Spirit of Christ

Because Christ gave everything for us

Philippians 2:6–7 ESV
who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men.
The Son of God made flesh
Philippians 2:8 ESV
And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.
The Son of God dying for us
This is what ultimately gives us the mind of unity we ought to have.
