Genesis 22
Verse 1-12
God was tasting Abraham if he loved God with all his soul, mind, strength.
When God commanded Abraham to offer up isaac, he did not give him an explanation.
Abraham feared God, which is evidence in his eagerness to obey God even at the cost of his life.
What would we do if God today asked us to offer up what seems precious to us?
How far do we fear God, How far are we willing to obey his command?
Abraham went as far as not witholding his only son from God, because he feared God and obeyed him.
This is why he is called the freind of God.
John 15:14 “14 You are My friends if you do whatever I command you.”
2 chronicles 3:1, the temple is built on Mount Moriah where Abraham offered isaac
Verse 15-19
God swore an oath of blessing to Abraham because of his obedience.
Genesis 23
Be wary when people offer you something for free
after they emotion subsides, and they don’t have anything in their hand as payemnt from you, they will begin to have second thoughts.
Therefore, Abraham was carefull to give them the full price of the field.
Genesis 24
Verse 1
It is God’s will for God to bless his people who fear him and honor him in their life in all things.
Psalms 35:27 “27 Let them shout for joy and be glad, Who favor my righteous cause; And let them say continually, “Let the Lord be magnified, Who has pleasure in the prosperity of His servant.””
Abraham Never sought out this blessing, he sought at God.
But this blessing comes from God in its own time.
God had blessed Abraham in all things because, God had noticed that whatever He gives Abraham, that does not interfere with his relationship with Abraham.
An example is Isaac.
God witholds his blessing because, we tend to be carried away when God blesses us with little things.
