ASV 1901 Luke 18 :7 And shall not God avenge his elect, that cry to him day and night, and yet he is longsuffering over them?
8 say unto you, that he will avenge them speedily.
Nevertheless, when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?
To begin with have you ever persisted with something that everybody else said it can’t be done.
Persevered with something that nobody else cared about your dedication and your perseverance.
I look at the senate hearings for Supreme Court nominee Ketanji Brown Jackson and what I saw through all of the rhetoric, through all of the talk, and through all of the conversations, I saw perseverance.
Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson is a great Judge, she ROCKS.
And brothers and sisters, in life we too must have perseverance and stick to it ness.
There a great poem that says “Don’t Quit”........Listen When things go wrong, as they sometimes will, When the road you’re trudging seems all up hill, When the funds are low and debts are high and you want to smile, but you have to sigh, when care is pressing you down a bit,Rest if you must but Don’t you quit....Success is failure turned inside out The silver tint of the clouds of doubt And you never can tell how close you are,It may be near when it seems afar; So stick to the fight when you’e hardest hit, because It’s when things seems at their worst!
that’s when you mustn’t quit.
You’ve got to perpetually be persistent in order to Persevere.
And when we look at the integrity of this great biblical text we find Jesus making a serious declaration to the faith based community through the usage of a parable.
And although Jesus is speaking a parable, the parable speaks volumes to many of our situations that we’re going through right now.
Because a Parable is
① something that serves as a model or example pointing beyond itself for a later realization, a later type, or a later figure that point to something in real life.
There are a multiplicity of issues going on in the local church the militant church and the future church of God.
There are a multiplicity of issues going on in our communities, in our homes, in our relationships, and on our jobs
And we have some real life situations going on here.
There are folk in here right now ready to give up ready to throw in the towel ready to said that’s all she rolls patner And that’s the devil talking to your mind!!! Don’t fall for it!
Tell your neighbor:Don’t Fall For It because Jesus said the devil comes to steal kill and destroy but I came that you might have life and That!
Life more abundantly.
Somebody ought to shout Hallelujah!!!.
This text in Luke 18 is designed to make us pray.
And in the Greek vernacular word Pray is the word Proseuchomai It means to supplicate and to earnestly worship and cry out before our Great God and in this text Jesus is saying for us to pray.
Pray mightily and pray consistently.
This text is designed to help us keep the communication lines open toward between mankind and heaven and to keep us relying on our heavenly Father for divine deliverance.
Look at
Luke 18:1 And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint; 2 Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man: 3 And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary.
Let’s unpack those three verses Lk 18. Look at verse
1.
We must pray because Prayer changes things, Prayer changes circumstances, and Prayer changes the conditions in our lives.
2. In verse 2 we see that there was a judge in the city that went straight by the book.
Because the text says he didn’t care what the Bible or God said and neither regarded what his constituencies said “he didn’t care.”
He was impartial.
He was Neutral not on the left or on the right.
He wasn’t Red or Blue He wasn’t Democrat or Republican he was just a judge.
And that’s fine for him but I need The Righteous Judge pleading my case.
I my need my Jesus the Righteous Judge to have Eleos on me Meaning I need God’s Mercy… Please Sir to Have Mercy Oh Lord Oh Lordy Ah Because I know I guilty.
I’m guilty of something.
I need Jesus my Righteous Judge to have Charis on me, meaning I need God’s Amazing Grace.
Because Grace God gives me what I don’t deserve, blessings on top of blessings Say Amen! but! with Mercy God doesn’t give me the punishment I certainly deserve to get.
God simply forgives me.
Tell your neighbor: He forgives me too
Then look at Luke 18 and verse 3 In that same town there was a widow who kept coming to this judge, saying, ‘Give me my rights against my enemy.
She kept coming, and kept coming and kept coming and kept coming and her defense was “Your Honor Sir Please give me my rights against my enemy”HE IS DOING ME DIRTY.
He’a not treating me fairly. He taken my husband’s land and my possessions.
He has crooked business dealings and shrewd tactics ,Check him out you honor because He ain’t straight!!!
And you honor sir, I wouldn’t have come to you with this but, it’s a legal matter.
We know its a legal matter because a judge is involved.
Anytime we have to go in front of a judge its a legal matter.
And she’s fighting for her rights.
Tell your neighbor: Don’t stop fighting for your rights.
She’s perpetually going before the judge.
Everyday she consistently and persistently appearing in the courtroom just to get the opportunity to talk to the judge.
She is a widow her husband is dead.
If her husband was alive, her enemy wouldn’t dare! even try to mistreat her.
Or it would be like slap gate at the Oscars.
She’s all alone!
and her only hope is the judge.
But the judge keeps saying no! the bible says in the first part of verse 4 For a while the judge refused to help her.
In life you’ve got to be prepared for people who refuse to help you.
It’s got people who refuse to help you on your job.
It’s got people who refuse to help you in your community.
It’s got people who refuse to help you in your church.
It’s got people who refuse to help you in your family.
And it’s got people who refuse to help you even in your own home!!!!Yeah Just ain’t gon help you!
And you’ve got to be prepared for that!!!
And that’s not even the enemy in the text.
The judge is supposed to be somebody that’s fair and impartial.
He’s the judge and he was hired by the courts to interpret the law judicially, fairly and squarely with integrity But he will not help her!!!
OH But afterwards the bible says the judge thought to himself, Even though I don’t respect God and even though I sure don’t care what people say or think about me, This widow woman is driving me crazy!
Man every time she come, I get rattled and cancel court.
Every time she comes I make excuses not to come out of the judges’ chambers.
Every time she comes, I lose my appetite and my food doesn’t taste good anymore.Every time he comes, I end up not helping nobody because if she sees me help just one person she’s going to expect me to help her with her case.
Man !!! she wearing me out!!
She wearing me out.... Perpetual Persistence That Persevere
And verse 5 says  I will see that she gets her rights.
Otherwise she will continue to bother me until I am worn out.’
” Brothers and sisters, Christian Friends, Well Wishers, and Saints of God
We have to PERPETUALLY BE PERSISTENT AND PERSEVERE UNTIL OUR BREAK THROUGH HAPPENS.
3X.
Because The worst thing in the world is for you to do is give up now!!!
Tell your neighbor: Don’t give up now, Tell em You have to Be Strong!
Be Strong
Because Maltbie D. Babcock says “we’re not here to play, to dream, to drift; we hard work to do, and loads to lift; Don’t shun the struggle face it, it is God’s gift.
Be Strong brothers and sisters Say not that the days are evil for Who’s to blame?
And fold your hands and acquiesce shame.
NO NO stand up, speak out, and bravely in God’s name Be Strong.
It matters not how deep the in-trenched wrong, how hard the battle goes the day long Faint not Fight on for tomorrow comes a new song.
The unjust judge decided to help the widow woman and Jesus says that the unjust judge said in verse 7 God will always give what is right to his people who cry to him night and day, and he will not be slow to answer them.
8.
I tell you, God will help his people quickly.
But when the Son of Man comes again, will he find those on earth who believe in him?”
The text says that God is coming quickly and the question is “will God find faith here on earth, will he find faith in you.
because the bible says
Don’t be weary in well doing ye shall reap if you faint not.
Don’t give up be perpetual Don’t give in be persistent and Don’t give out keep persevering.
Come on give the Lord a hand of praise.....
I heard the song writer saying I’ve got to run on and see what the end is going to be.
Great God yes The Running Man if the anointing is there.
