1 Corinthians 2:14-16

1 Corinthians 2:14–16 (NKJV)
But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is rightly judged by no one. For “who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ.

People without The Spirit think the things of The Spirit are foolish.

A. Why would you go to church weekly?
B. Why do you worship something you cant see?
C. The message of The Spirit comes through RENEWING THE MIND
Reading 4 times a week stats
Romans 12:1–2 NKJV
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

People without The Spirit cannot understand.

Who’s in your tribe?
Leaders & Mentors & Pastors & Jesus & Parents
A. Leaders, Mentors, Pastors, Parents, Holy Spirit,
Help us rightly understand the scriptures!
B. God looks @ your HEART
Samuel the Prophet Chose David, though he was not best fitted from outward appearances.
1 Samuel 16:7 NKJV
But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”
Pointing back too
1 Corinthians 2:15 “But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is rightly judged by no one.”

We judge with Gods Heart

A. God Loves people - We need to find a way to love people too.
B. Judge situations by God’s Heart
Don’t view your life like the world.
View your life like God
God’s plans, not our plans
God’s ways, not our ways.

What has God called us to do?

Matthew 22:37-39 “Jesus said to him, “ ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’”

How

John 21:15-17 “So when they had eaten breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me more than these?” He said to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I love You.” He said to him, “Feed My lambs.” He said to him again a second time, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me?” He said to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I love You.” He said to him, “Tend My sheep.” He said to him the third time, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me?” Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time, “Do you love Me?” And he said to Him, “Lord, You know all things; You know that I love You.” Jesus said to him, “Feed My sheep.”

Love Is An Action

Looks Like Something
Jesus to peter. Care for the things he cares about.
He IS LOVE. The most unbiased, fair, just, and perfect love possible. Unable to be selfish.
God Is Love!
We are made in his image
As imagers, we too LOVE
However
without the mind of Christ, we our lovers of ourself. which leads to destruction and death.
With the mind of Christ, We our lovers of God, and care for the things he cares for. Which leads to comfort, security, confidence, and eternal life.
2 Timothy 3:1-17 “But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come:
For men will be lovers of themselves,
money, boasting, prideful, blasphemers, disobedient, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers (gossiper rumor spreader),
without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,
having a form of godliness but denying its power.
And from such people turn away! For of this sort are those who creep into households and make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts, always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. Now as Jannes and Jambres resisted Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, disapproved concerning the faith; but they will progress no further, for their folly will be manifest to all, as theirs also was.
2 Timothy 3:10-17 “But you have carefully followed my doctrine,
manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, love, perseverance, persecutions, afflictions,
And out of them all the Lord delivered me.
all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.
But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived.
But you must continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of,
knowing from whom you have learned them, and that
from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures,
which are able to
make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for
doctrine, reproof, for correction, instruction in righteousness,
that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.
