Psalm 23

Psalm 23 ESV
A Psalm of David. The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
Today we celebrate the life of Mary Irene Strong. Mary Strong was a mother, daughter, wife, sister, friend and servant of God. I only knew Mary since 1998. Mary was a memorable person in First Southern Baptist Church. Mary loved to cook and work in the kitchen. Mary loved working with the little kids and teaching them and helping them grow in God’s Word. Mary loved to decorate, in fact most of the decorations in here are from her.
Psalm 23 was Mary’s favorite verse.
Verse 3 helps remind me of Mary and that she is no longer in pain or anguish. He restores my soul.
But during the time on this earth Mary remembered verse 5 and 6
Psalm 23:5–6 ESV
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
So today as requested by the family and what I believe Mary would have loved to known that just one person in here that does not know Christ Jesus as their Lord and Savior that today they make that decision to follow Him.
