The Son of Man has come to seek and to save the lost!
A Curious Soul
On the way to Jerusalem, Jesus passed through Jericho.
He had just healed Blind Bartimaeus.
He was rich, but still had a deep need of the soul.
Jesus had just encountered the rich, young ruler and said, Luke 18:24-25 “How difficult it is for those who have wealth to enter the kingdom of God! 25 For it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God.””
He was an outcast, but he was loved by the Savior.
He was short, but large in curiosity.
Many people are curious about Jesus, but that alone will not make them saved.
You must know Jesus, you must be born again!
A Call from the Savior
Jesus saw Zacchaeus.
He looked up at him in the tree and stopped in the midst of the busy crowd.
Jesus sees you right where you are.
He sees your curiosities, your joys, your sorrows, your hurts.
He sees it all and takes notice!
Jesus spoke to Zacchaeus.
There were many around and He certainly talked to others as well, but he took the time to speak with Zacchaeus.
Do you realize that Jesus speaks to you today?
Jesus called him, “Come down, I’m staying with you.”
A Changed Life
Zacchaeus received Jesus joyfully.
That is the first step in salvation, is receiving Him as Lord.
Jesus was a welcomed guest in Zacchaeus’ home.
Zacchaeus demonstrated the fruit of a changed life by his generosity and restoration.
Christ was now in command of his life, not money.
A Rich man saved!
With God all things are possible.
He was a son of Abraham.
No longer just a physical descendant, but now spiritually.
Abraham was the father of faith, because he believed God.
His belief was evidenced in obedience.
Jesus has come to seek and save the lost.
The question is will you receive HIM? Will you follow HIM?
