Jesus often did things to fulfill the OT prophecies concerning Himself
He knew the Old Testament
He was committed to doing His Father’s will, even if it meant going to the cross
We should familiarize ourselves with the Bible and be committed to doing God’s will, even when it is uncomfortable.
Entering Jerusalem
People knew Jesus was coming, so they attended the feast that day.
Perhaps they thought Lazarus would be with Him.
Perhaps they thought He would do a miracle
Perhaps they thought He would set up His Kingdom and overthrow the Romans.
An Unusual King
The Jews expected a military king, a political king like David who would set up Israel as a world power again.
The people expected a strong leader who would triumph over his and their enemies
But this King
Came riding on a donkey not a stallion.
Had followers who were everyday people.
They were not of religious, political or
monetary powers.
