a sinful man in the presence of God deserves to have the same result as the cakes and meat: you are consumed. but God says “peace to you. do not fear.”

ANGEL OF THE LORD OR GOD?

He realizes that God has dealt with him in mercy and peace, rather than in judgement and anger.

john 14 “peace i leave to you peace I give to you, do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid”

eph 2:11 “

what is the signifcance of names in the old testament: names mean something, god is peace means that there is a peacemaking component of his love. Peace in God cannot be ignoring what is wrong. Peace means that it must be reconciled.

Peace be to you (individual vs corporate) You wont die in this moment.

what abiut when don’t feel at peace?

Isaiah 9 “he shall be called prince of peace”

How does God actually give you peace? How is he the God of peace? What are his instruments of peace?

THE NATURE MAKES THE NAME

its not a hypothetical, the altar comes after the promise. The monument comes after the miracle.

If you can understand the depth of the distress you can understand the power of the peace

the distress of the world can never surpass the power of God’s peace.

Does he give peace? No. He IS peace. THE LORD IS PEACE.
