So the Respected Dad’s come home and announce the engagement to the respective Sons and Daughter.
The year wait then begins. Who know if the bride had ever laid eyes upon the bridegroom or the bridegroom had laid eyes upon the bride.
But none the less they were both considered married.
When the contract is entered into through faith, each of us enter into that married relationship with the Lord. We are the bride of Christ.
the bride
With the bride price settled there will comes a waiting period which would last for approximately a year. the bride would remain in her Father’s house though she was considered married. The son would remain in His Father’s house where he would be building onto the house where he would bring his bride to live.
John 14:2–4 (NASB95) — 2 “In My Father’s house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. 3 “If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also. 4 “And you know the way where I am going.”
The waiting for the year is to test the loyalty of the bride. Does she have the integrity to wait the year.
the contract is binding and can only be annulled by a divorce.
the Husband is exempt from military duty which is an interesting point.
Deuteronomy 20:7 (NASB95) — 7 ‘And who is the man that is engaged to a woman and has not married her? Let him depart and return to his house, otherwise he might die in the battle and another man would marry her.’
I am asked from time to time in this way
“When is the Lord going to get fed up with this world situation and step in.”
Right now is the engagement period for the bridegroom. He is at his Father’s house building on. No military duty for him.
it will not be until after the Rapture of the church (timing of when the Lord return) that he will return to wreak judgment.
Revelation 19:11–16 (NASB95) — 11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse, and He who sat on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and wages war. 12 His eyes are a flame of fire, and on His head are many diadems; and He has a name written on Him which no one knows except Himself. 13 He is clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. 14 And the armies which are in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, were following Him on white horses. 15 From His mouth comes a sharp sword, so that with it He may strike down the nations, and He will rule them with a rod of iron; and He treads the wine press of the fierce wrath of God, the Almighty. 16 And on His robe and on His thigh He has a name written, “KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.”
