DAY ONE| Finding Safety In The Wilderness
DAY ONE| Finding Safety In The Wilderness
Blessed be the Lord, my rock, Who trains my hands for war, And my fingers for battle;
My lovingkindness and my fortress, My stronghold and my deliverer, My shield and He in whom I take refuge, Who subdues my people under me.
What did it mean for God to be David’s Rock and Fortress?
What does Ps. 18:1-3 reveal about the relationship David had with God?
How important was obedience in David's relationship with God (Ps. 18:20-26)?
How and why did God respond to David when he cried for help (Ps. 18:16-19)?
What hinders you from viewing God as your “ultimate fortress”? Is it lack of trust, lack of knowledge of who God is, lack of obedience, lack of experience in relying on God?
Memorize Ps. 32:7
You are my hiding place; You preserve me from trouble; You surround me with songs of deliverance. Selah.

Therefore when the people saw the sign which He had performed, they said, “This is truly the Prophet who is to come into the world.”

Isa. 9:1-2, 6-7; 62:11 | Jer. 23:5-6 | Micah 5:2 | Zech. 9:9-10.
After Jesus resurrection he spent 40 days teaching his disciples about the kingdom of God. What questions did they ask and why do you think they asked them (Acts 1:1-6)?

For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; And the government will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.
There will be no end to the increase of His government or of peace, On the throne of David and over his kingdom, To establish it and to uphold it with justice and righteousness From then on and forevermore. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will accomplish this.
Which words of John the baptist should have alerted the Jews that Jesus would not be the type of king they thought (Jn. 1:29,36)?

DAY FIVE| David: Committed To God In All Circumstances
And those who know Your name will put their trust in You, For You, O Lord, have not forsaken those who seek You.
What reasons had God rejected Saul as king and chose David? (see 1 Sam. 13:914; 15:10-23; 16:1, 6-12)
Who do you know that is a model of trusting God and submitting to His will?
How can you trust in God more?
Return to your rest, O my soul, For the Lord has dealt bountifully with you.
For You have rescued my soul from death, My eyes from tears, My feet from stumbling.
I shall walk before the Lord In the land of the living.
