THE CELEBRATION OF TRIUMPHANT PRAISE v. 37
THE CELEBRATION OF TRIUMPHANT PRAISE v. 37
Luke 19:37-38 “37 When he came near the place where the road goes down the Mount of Olives, the whole crowd of disciples began joyfully to praise God in loud voices for all the miracles they had seen:
Jesus didn’t have to pump the people up; No Worship Leader; No Technology hype;
The disciples saw miracles of healing; Woman Bent Over; Woman with Issues; 10 Lepers; Blind Bartimaeus; Raising of Lazarus.
We ought to CELEBRATE Him for what we have seen. Straightening out Lives; Deliverance from our Issues; Restoring our Credibility; Answering our Cry when we couldn’t see our way; New life of salvation.
The CELEBRATION started “where the road goes down...”ALMOST THERE!
We ought to PRAISE Him in Anticipation. What we expect Him to do. He keeps His promises.
PROMISED to KEEP US - John 14:27 “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”
PROMISED OF REST - Matthew 11:28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
PROMISE OF PROTECTION - Psalm 91:14-15 “Because YOU love me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue YOU; I will protect YOU, for YOU acknowledge my name. 15 YOU will call on me, and I will answer YOU; I will be with YOU in trouble, I will deliver YOU and honor YOU.”
SO-We ought to offer TRIUMPHANT PRAISE for what He’s done; what He will do...
BUT ALSO WHEN IT SEEMS LIKE HE’S NOT DOING ANYTHING.
“Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord!” “Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!” Jesus is receiving PRAISE but not doing anything.
We ought to offer TRIUMPHANT PRAISE when God is silent.
God may be silent, but He’s never ABSENT.
Isaiah 65:24 “Before they call I will answer; while they are still speaking I will hear.”
Trust HIM and keep on PRAISING!
THE CRITICISM OF TRIUMPHANT PRAISE - v. 39
THE CRITICISM OF TRIUMPHANT PRAISE - v. 39
“Jesus tell your disciples to stop.
Not all Pharisees were bad. Pharisees had an influence over the people.
Pharisees = devoted to the observance of God.
Many times you are Criticized...
because that’s the learned behavior.
because of fear. Jews feared the Romans;
because they can’t “see” who He is. Luke 20:9-18
Don’t give in to CRITICISM. HATERS!
When people hate on you…you’ve got something they want; they secretly want to be you.
Proverbs 15:1 “A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.” “Thank you…Hater/MOTIVATOR!”
Hebrews 10:24 “Let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds,” “BE Thankful for what you have and He will give you more.”
THE CONFIRMATION OF TRIUMPHANT PRAISE - v. 40
THE CONFIRMATION OF TRIUMPHANT PRAISE - v. 40
Confirmation = establish truth or correctness.
Normally, Jesus restricts people from praising Him publicly.
NOT this time.
If they keep quiet, the rocks will cry out.
Proverbial saying because rocks don’t speak.
But TRIUMPHANT PRAISE is due to the King of kings; Ruler of the Universe; Master of Creation.
TRIUMPHANT PRAISE IS DUE to the One who fulfilled the plan of God the Father; climbed Calvary’s hill; suffered and died for you sins and for my sin; granted us eternal life in the KINGDOM.
CLOSE: The CELEBRATION, CRITICISM, CONFIRMATION of TRIUMPHAL PRAISE.
Psalm 100 1 Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth.
2 Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs.
3 Know that the Lord is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.
4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.
5 For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.”
