1. You are a special creation of God!

Lie: Your life (job, ministry, family, etc.) is insignificant and meaningless. Illustration: Making the Boyle name great again! a. You are made for a purpose! i. God designed you. Psalm 139:13-16; Jeremiah 1:5 ii. To worship Him. Psalm 100; Psalm 95:6; Isaiah 43:7, 21 b. You are loved by God! Psalm 86:15; Psalm 103:18; John 3:16 i. You aren't God. (Pride) ii. You are known and valued. c. The creation is made for the Creator. Lie: You create your value. i. You will be most satisfied when your life glorifies God using the unique characteristics He has given you. Matthew 5:6; Psalm 16:11 ii. Seeking your own desires will drain the life out of you. Matthew 16:25; Romans 8:5-7 iii. You are created for good works. Ephesians 2:10 2. You are a special child of God. Lie: God doesn't really want you in particular. Alt: God isn't pleased by you. a. You are particularly loved by God. Ephesians 3:17-19; Zepheniah 3:17; Luke 15:7 b. Through Christ we are adopted into the family of God. 1 John 3:8; John 1:12-13; Matthew 12:50; Galatians 4:3-7 c. We are no longer slaves, we friends and family. John 15:13-15; Romans 8:16-18 3. You are especially righteous in God's eyes. Lie: You aren't good enough to matter. a. Your sin is forgiven. 1 John 1:9; Matthew 6:14-15; Psalm 103:10-14; Ephesians 1:7-14 b. You are made righteous by faith. Romans 3:21-26; Galatians 2:16 4. You have been granted special freedom. Lie: God's grace is only for the future. a. Freedom to pursue and know God and His will. Psalm 118:16; Ecclesiastes 12:13 i. Ignore the condemnation and judgement of others. b. Freedom to pursue and develop the God edifying gifts, talents, and interests that God has created and developed within you. (Joseph doesn't need to be like Michael to make me proud.) John 8:31-32 c. Freedom to creatively express our gratitude to Him. Psalm 150; Psalm 63:3-4 5. You have been granted a special burden. Lie: God's goodness is measured by my level satisfaction. a. To endure trials and tribulations. Anything of value is tested for purity. James 1:12; James 1:2-3 b. To suffer for Christ. God is going to use the suffering to produce good. 1 Peter 4:12-14 c. Apart from the rapture, to die without fully realizing God's promises. Philippians 3:12-14 d. To go into the world and share the gospel. Mark 16:15-16; 2 Cor 5:11-21
