The Source of the Gospel
The Source of the Gospel
Paul doesn’t get the Gospel from other people, or from special doctrination, but Paul knows the Gospel is from God.
Therefore, the source of the Gospel is God. V. 11-12
How can we find the Gospel?
The Old Testament
The suffering servant in Isaiah 53.
Melchizedek in Gen. 14.
God’s promise in Gen. 3: 15 “And I will put enmity Between you and the woman, And between your seed and her seed; He shall bruise you on the head, And you shall bruise him on the heel.””
The New Testament
John 14:6 “Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.”
John 3:16 ““For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.”
Galatians 1:3-5 “Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for our sins so that He might rescue us from this present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, to whom be the glory forevermore. Amen.”
The Gospel is not made up by people, it’s from God.
The Gospel Changes Lives
The Gospel Changes Lives
Paul was a man that persecuted Christians and then became one of the most well-known Christians.
This doesn’t happen in other religions!
As far as I can tell, there are no stories of someone who hated a religion enough to imprison people and vote for their deaths and then become a primary member of that religion.
Why?
The Gospel changes everything!
That’s why Paul went to Jerusalem the 2nd time, to defend the Gospel.
If the Gospel can change Paul’s life, God can change yours.
