LOVING GOD - PART 3 ( Deuteronomy 10:12-13)

Love God With all our heart and with all our soul and with all our strength

GOAL

The congregation will know that to Love God is for our good and part of the requirements to live in HIS renewed Covenant.

MOTIVATION

If the congregation keep loving God, they will experience the goodness of God.

REVIEW

Last week we have learned that loving God is not just a statement but a commitment, in order to fulfil our commintment we have to :

1. Teach them diligently to our children. (7)

2. Talk of them in any occasion. (7)

3. Bind them as a sign on your hand and they shall be as frontals on your forehead.

4. write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.

UNFOLDING THE TRUTH

Deuteronomy 10:12–13 (ESV)

12 “And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God require of you, but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in all his ways, to love him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, 13 and to keep the commandments and statutes of the Lord, which I am commanding you today for your good?

In this pasage, God renewed the covenant with Israelite and gave them the promise land. With God’s migthy hand, God brought Israel out of eqypt, set them free from the bondage of slavery and lead them to the promise land.

In our life. Jesus had died on the cross to set us free from the bondage of sin and adopted us to His sonship. So we have a new life now.

God’s requirements in New Life.

1. Fear of the LORD our God (Deuteronomy 10:12)

instead of worry of situation, we must learn to fear of the LORD.

2. Walk in all His ways (Dt 10:12)

Started by meditating His word day and night (Joshua 1:8)

8 The scroll of this law will not depart from your mouth; you will meditate on it day and night so that you may observe diligently all that is written in it. For then you will succeed in your ways and prosper.

3. Love Him (Dt 10:12)

Obey His commandments (John 14:23)

23 Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves me he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and will take up residence with him.

4. Serve Him (Dt 10:12)

1 Peter 2:9 (LEB)

9 But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s possession, so that you may proclaim the virtues of the one who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light,

We are commanded to proclaim the virtues of God.

5. Keep His commandments and statutes of the Lord (Dt 10:13)

live in rigtheousness

CONCLUTION

We have to live in the new Conenant
