Rejoice! Jesus Has Come
Rejoice! Jesus Has Come
Opening Verse...
How lovely is your dwelling place,
O Lord of Heaven’s Armies.
I long, yes, I faint with longing
to enter the courts of the Lord.
With my whole being, body and soul,
I will shout joyfully to the living God.
Jesus is Celebrated by the People.
“Tell the daughter of Zion,
‘Behold, your King is coming to you,
Lowly, and sitting on a donkey,
A colt, the foal of a donkey.’ ”
Who are these people in the story?
The Daughter of Zion...
“Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion!
Shout, O daughter of Jerusalem!
Behold, your King is coming to you;
He is just and having salvation,
Lowly and riding on a donkey,
A colt, the foal of a donkey.
The oppressed ones, The ones who have been enslaved, blinded, mute, deaf… Jesus came to set the captives free
So the disciples went and did as Jesus commanded them. They brought the donkey and the colt, laid their clothes on them, and set Him on them.
Who is Jesus in this Story
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me,
for he has anointed me to bring Good News to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released,
that the blind will see,
that the oppressed will be set free,
and that the time of the Lord’s favor has come.”
And a very great multitude spread their clothes on the road; others cut down branches from the trees and spread them on the road.
The People Believed in the Salvation of Jesus even not knowing who Jesus was. They Celebrated Jesus!
Then the multitudes who went before and those who followed cried out, saying:
“Hosanna to the Son of David!
‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!’
Hosanna in the highest!”
The people worship and celebrated Jesus
Hosanna - Save us now
But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name:
Blessed is the kingdom of our father David
That comes in the name of the Lord!
Hosanna in the highest!”
And when He had come into Jerusalem, all the city was moved, saying, “Who is this?”
Who is Jesus to you?
So the multitudes said, “This is Jesus, the prophet from Nazareth of Galilee.”
All they new was the man from Galilee, the prophet.
Today let’s rejoice! He has come!
For you for me for all!
Let’s worship God with pure hearts!
If you are struggling today, you too can rejoice because Jesus has come to the hurting...
