Easter 2022

Luke 24:6-7 He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee, saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.

To begin with my brothers and sisters, Christian friends, well wishers, and Saints of God, It is with a great sense of poise, purpose, and appreciation, to able to preach the Easter Sunday Morning Sermon. So let’s get started read the text again Luke 24:6-7(KJV)He is not here,but is risen; remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee, Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and e crucified, and the third day rise again. This Authentic story has some real issues. We know that Jesus Rose from the dead, and there was some serious opposition, some serious Jealousy, some serious envy, and some serious resentment, that lead to Jesus’ death on the cross. Jesus had haters all around him.

When folk hate you they will go to unprecedented levels to block, obstruct, delay, detach, and destroy you. Can I tell the story, The Pharisees, Sadducees, Scribes, Herodians, and the Sanhedrin Council all hated Jesus. They had problem with Jesus because

1. he spoke with authority

2. did miracles with signs and wonders “that they couldn’t do. 3. And the crowd respected Jesus like the messiah and the religpous leaders wanted Jesus dead. but Jesus said john 17 “no man takes my life because I freely laid down my life for the sins of humankind” And let me say this parenthetically, If Jesus can lay down his life when he wanted to, then it’s not too hard to believe that Jesus could likewise raise his life anytime he wanted to.

Let the Church say Amen!! In this sermonic pericamy there are some important facts about The Resurrection Sunday Story.

1. The major problem that the Pharisaic Religious Authorities of the Sanhedrin Council had was when Jesus said “I Am the Great Shepherd of the sheep” “I am the Lilly of the Valley” “I am the bright Morning Start” “I am the Rose of Sharon” “I am the Bread of Life” “I am the Resurrection and the Life.”and I am the way the truth and the life and no man come to the Father but by me” They had a problem with jesus is speaking like the true messiah and “they really believed in the resurrection” but they refused to believe that Jesus is the christ despite clear evidence.

so imstead of believing in jesus they wanted to kill Him.

Then there is the second group, the Sadducees, they didn’t believe in the resurrection from the dead. So that why Sadducees wanted Jesus dead

3. Then there is the third group, the Scribes or the grammerians of the word of God. They were writers of the word of God and the writer’s job was to copy and duplicate authentic scripture. They wanted Jesus dead because of what John said about Jesus. John 1:1-4(KJV)In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made. In him was life; and the life was life; and the life was the light of men. In the beginning was the Word This is what made the scribes mad, John is calling Jesus the Word. Everybody knows that the Word of God has power. So the scribes wanted Jesus dead. But brothers and sisters Everything that was written in the bible was inspired by Jesus and was written about Jesus and for Jesus. The Godhead bodily is fulfilled in Jesus the Christ and and and Easter Resurrection Sunday is the culminating Event the puts Joy in every Christian’s heart.

It makes me want to shout and celebrate and give God Glory for doing something for us that we couldn’t do for ourselves. Somebody ought to Shout right where you are Shout Hallelujah!!! shout Hosanna, shout Glory to God, Somebody say Thank you Jesus

I don’t want to keep you to long on Easter Sunday Morning, but The Pharisees, Sadducees, and Scribes were all mad with Jesus and wanted Him dead.

but his own disciples showed indignation too. Judas betrayed Jesus for 30 pieces of Silver, James and John scattered and ran when they came to arrest Jesus. And finally don’t forget about Peter when they arrested Jesus. Peter deny s Jesus 3x before the rooster crowed early Friday morning.

Now they are marching Jesus out of the Garden of Gethsemane like a harden criminal and they take Jesus to the old high priest Caiaphas’ House instead of the new high priest Annas’ House. Caiaphas was Annas’ father-in law so brothers and sister it was a family hook up from the start.

And they were there handling Jesus is highly illegal They had mini trail after mini trial They brought Jesus from Judgement Hall to Judgement Hall. All because they all wanted Jesus dead.

The Sanhedrin council broke so many rules and regulations they suspended all the rules, they broke all kinds of ethic violations, they dishonored their own customs, creeds and codes of conduct. They even Trumped up false charges, calling Jesus an Insurrectionist, and a blasphemer. The beat battered and bruised Jesus badly.

And then on top of all of that they cornered and collared Pontius Pilate the Roman Governor and made him condemn Jesus to a death by Roman Crucifixion. Crucifixion was a gruesome death. Pilate said the right thing but did the wrong thing, That’s why always say don’t listen at what they say but watch what they do... because Pilate said I find no fault in the man.

Governor Pilate allow the sanhedrin Council to have unprecedented power because of three things. They had pilate right where they wanted him, 1. Pilate had borrowed money from the Jews to build an adqueduct to make his name look good but this was against Roman Law! 2. They had Pilate because Pilate had brought his wife to Jerusalem wile he was on officiial Government. 3. Finally, they had Pilate because Pilate called for a basin full of water tried to wash his hands but he could not wash off the evil deeds that were done against Jesus. So the Roman Soldiers whip Jesus, Mocked Jesus, Scourged Jesus, Flogged Jesus, Spit on Jesus put a Purple Robe on Jesus put a crown of 72 platted thorns on His head pressed it down in Jesus’ kSkull and the blood came streaming down Jesus knew he was about to have to suffer a vicarious, substitutionary, and ignomanious death. He knew it! And then they marched Jesus up the Via dela rosa, that was the road that lead up to Calvery Galgotha the place of the skull. And while walking with that heavy cross on His shoulders, The Human side of Jesus got physically weak and Simon of Cyrene a black man help Jesus carry His cross The songwriter says “must Jesus bear His cross alone andBrothers and sisters, Christian Friends well wishers and Saints of God Jesus iis going throght the most agaonizing ordeal of his Life Matter of fact about it, it costeed Him His life!!!!!!!!!!!!!The bible says that Christ sacrificed Himself as a propitiation for our sins (Start Closing) And here he is 2x at Calvary the place of the skull. Take a glance at Golatha it was a gruesome, place that look like a skull 5th Calvary Lord have mercy 8th Calvary was not a pretty picturesque port card No no no, Calvary’s Hill looked like a skull!!!! it that looks evil, i smells evil, it smells foul, it smells like rotteening flesh and bloody woulds and Calvary is a place where a lot of evil was rectified. And Jesus wanted to rectify mankind’s sins yes And He’s hanging on the cross with two criminals one on the left and one on the right. And Jesus who knew no sin became sin for the sins of the whole wide world. Jesus had one no wrong, had not commited no crime, and didin’t owe a ransom to any one, but there He is paying our sin debt on a hill called Calvary, Oh Lord and look at my Jesus out on that Cross! Oh my Lord Jesus hands and feet are nailed to the cross and Pilate made sure that the Roman Soldeiers wrote here is “Jesus the King of the Jews Um Um in Hebrew, Latin and Greek” Oh Lordy and don’t you see Jesus hanging on the cross from the 6th to the 9th hour. Yes He did um um I heard Jesus saying “Father in they hands I commend dmy Spirit” And He died Oh Lord ! 2x But that’s not the end of the story nah nah because Early, Yeah Early 7th early 8th Early EASTER SUNDAY Morning He rose He rose he rose hey heyy hey hey He rose up from the dead with All Power Yes Sir All Power in His Hands Ain’t He Alright 3x He Rose 3x Somebody tell the Lord Thank Yu Thank You Jesus Oh Lordy and one day He’s coming back for a church without a spot or a wrinkle, One day when it’s his to call and mine to answer I want to hear the Lord say Servant! Well Done will you be ready when He calls your name? Yeah Yeah Yeaah Is there any aody in here that Loves my Jesus Oh Lordy I love you Jesus I love you Lord You’ve been Good to me. Have He been good to you? Ain’t He Alright!!!!!
