Word of Encouragement
You may be asking, where do you find this mindset/vision represented in scripture?
Y’all have such great questions!! HAHA
Though i see Relational ministry threaded throughout the entire 66 books of the Bible, Jesus gives us a great example in the way that He related to the 12 Apostles.
He went and specifically chose 12 guys, and then didn’t just get em saved, He invested around 3 years in those guys.
And the way that He conducted Himself in those relationships is never more clear than in the upper room, Just before Judas’ betrayal.
1 Now before the Feast of the Passover, when Jesus knew that his hour had come to depart out of this world to the Father, having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end.
2 During supper, when the devil had already put it into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, to betray him,
3 Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that he had come from God and was going back to God,
4 rose from supper. He laid aside his outer garments, and taking a towel, tied it around his waist.
5 Then he poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples’ feet and to wipe them with the towel that was wrapped around him.
Here, Jesus does a few things that are Huge examples!
Here, Jesus does a few things that are Huge examples!
He takes on the clothing and posture of a servant. Not a “Leader”
He shows everyone that intimate relationships are the only way to Salvation.
He commands that we follow suit, and surrender our safety, status, and Time in order to Love on His children.
It’s in Christ’s example that i Hope and Pray to be able to mold our Ministry here at Gilliam.
