A heart of unbelief
Hebrews 3:12 NKJV
12 Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God;
When we have a heart of unbeleif we will depart from the Lord.
We can be in the church but our heart has departed from God.
Isaiah 29:13 “13 Therefore the Lord said: “Inasmuch as these people draw near with their mouths And honor Me with their lips, But have removed their hearts far from Me, And their fear toward Me is taught by the commandment of men,”
Romans 14:23 “23 But he who doubts is condemned if he eats, because he does not eat from faith; for whatever is not from faith is sin.
Ezekiel 14:1–8 (NKJV)
1 Now some of the elders of Israel came to me and sat before me.
2 And the word of the Lord came to me, saying,
3Son of man, these men have set up their idols in their hearts, and put before them that which causes them to stumble into iniquity. Should I let Myself be inquired of at all by them?
4 “Therefore speak to them, and say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord God: “Everyone of the house of Israel who sets up his idols in his heart, and puts before him what causes him to stumble into iniquity, and then comes to the prophet, I the Lord will answer him who comes, according to the multitude of his idols,
5 that I may seize the house of Israel by their heart, because they are all estranged from Me by their idols.” ’
6 “Therefore say to the house of Israel, ‘Thus says the Lord God: “Repent, turn away from your idols, and turn your faces away from all your abominations.
Have we set before us things that is causing us to stumble, things that are slowly pulling us away from godliness.
Isaiah 33:14–16 (NKJV)
14 The sinners in Zion are afraid; Fearfulness has seized the hypocrites: “Who among us shall dwell with the devouring fire? Who among us shall dwell with everlasting burnings?”
Have we lived a life of hypocracy.
Hypocracy comes in many form but it is basicly pretending to be something you are not.
Are we the same person we are at the church at home aswell, at workplace.
15 He who walks righteously and speaks uprightly, He who despises the gain of oppressions, Who gestures with his hands, refusing bribes, Who stops his ears from hearing of bloodshed, And shuts his eyes from seeing evil:
16 He will dwell on high; His place of defense will be the fortress of rocks; Bread will be given him, His water will be sure.
Zephaniah 1:10–13 (NKJV)
10 “And there shall be on that day,” says the Lord, “The sound of a mournful cry from the Fish Gate, A wailing from the Second Quarter, And a loud crashing from the hills.
11 Wail, you inhabitants of Maktesh! For all the merchant people are cut down; All those who handle money are cut off.
12 “And it shall come to pass at that time That I will search Jerusalem with lamps, And punish the men Who are settled in complacency, Who say in their heart, ‘The Lord will not do good, Nor will He do evil.’
self-satisfaction especially when accompanied by unawareness of actual dangers or deficiencies
Being satisfied with your current position in your spiritual walk with God. Our spiritual life has no movement like the calm waters.
We are not expecting anything good or evil.
We are stagnation in our walk with God.
13 Therefore their goods shall become booty, And their houses a desolation; They shall build houses, but not inhabit them; They shall plant vineyards, but not drink their wine.”
Zephaniah 3:1–2 NKJV
1 Woe to her who is rebellious and polluted, To the oppressing city! 2 She has not obeyed His voice, She has not received correction; She has not trusted in the Lord, She has not drawn near to her God.
If this church has not obeyed the voice of God
If this church has not receied corection,
If this church has not trusted in the Lord
If this church has not drawn near her God,
We have to repent.
Psalm 19:12–13 (NKJV)
12 Who can understand his errors? Cleanse me from secret faults.
13 Keep back Your servant also from presumptuous sins; Let them not have dominion over me. Then I shall be blameless, And I shall be innocent of great transgression.
Let us ask the Lord to cleanse us from the errors and faults that we dont understand.
Psalm of repentance
Psalm 51:1–13 NKJV
1 Have mercy upon me, O God, According to Your lovingkindness; According to the multitude of Your tender mercies, Blot out my transgressions. 2 Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, And cleanse me from my sin. 3 For I acknowledge my transgressions, And my sin is always before me. 4 Against You, You only, have I sinned, And done this evil in Your sight— That You may be found just when You speak, And blameless when You judge. 5 Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, And in sin my mother conceived me. 6 Behold, You desire truth in the inward parts, And in the hidden part You will make me to know wisdom. 7 Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. 8 Make me hear joy and gladness, That the bones You have broken may rejoice. 9 Hide Your face from my sins, And blot out all my iniquities. 10 Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me. 11 Do not cast me away from Your presence, And do not take Your Holy Spirit from me. 12 Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, And uphold me by Your generous Spirit. 13 Then I will teach transgressors Your ways, And sinners shall be converted to You.
Psalm 51:16–17 NKJV
16 For You do not desire sacrifice, or else I would give it; You do not delight in burnt offering. 17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, A broken and a contrite heart— These, O God, You will not despise.
