A resurrection is a rising again, a rising from a state of death to a state of life
In the Bible, we have many accounts of persons called back from death to their former state of existence. We will cite only a few of these accounts.
In his mind, Abraham had consigned his son Isaac to death. It was from this death and not from actual physical death that Isaac was resurrected. “In a figure,” Abraham received Isaac back from the dead, Heb. 11:19.
we are calling these resurrections resuscitations (revivifications back to the state of existence occupied before death).
KEYS, POWER OF. *The symbol of apostolic authority granted by Jesus. A common view in the ancient world was that the earth was separated from the upper and lower worlds by locked doors, access to which was only through the angelic being or deity who held the keys (Gk. kleís). Figuratively, then, keys represent the power and authority to control access to whatever is behind the locked door (e.g.,
