This Week’s Word is Salvation: Salvation is a spiritual deliverance which includes freed by God through Christ from the penalty of sin, is presently being freed from the power of sin, and will be freed from the presence of sin.

God redeems, rescues, regenerate, and reconciles sinners.

Essence of the Text in a Sentence: In regards to the resurrection, Paul is stressing to the Corinthian believers the victory gained through Christ and their response.

Sermon Objective: I want those in attendance to appreciate what has been afforded to those in Christ and give credit where credit is due.

Sermon Text: 1 Corinthians 15:57-58

INTRODUCTION: Moses and the children of Israel responded with a song after crossing the Red Sea

Exodus 15:1-20 “1 Then Moses and the children of Israel sang this song to the Lord, and spoke, saying: “I will sing to the Lord, For He has triumphed gloriously!

The Law of Moses (Ex 23:16) provided for an offering of the firstfruits of crops to God.

The firstfruits were the guarantee of the full harvest to come.

The NT sees the resurrection of Jesus Christ as the firstfruits of the full ingathering of all God’s people when Jesus Christ comes again.
