Welcome everyone to Redemption Church on Resurrection Sunday!!!
Jesus is Risen!!
We have been on a sermon series looking at the Friction in real life, and how to see the Fact (or truth) in the midst of it.
It is fitting that on Resurrection Sunday, that we would finish up with “Friction in Ourselves”.
Imagine if you would, that you are living in Jesus’ time.
So much has happened. Here came a man who claimed to be Emmanuel “God with Us”.
Some said He was just a prophet - Others said He was Elijah reborn.
But none of that matters now, because they arrested Jesus.
They brutally tortured Him. Then, They Crucified Him!
Was ANYTHING He said true? Where was this KINGDOM He kept talking about?
THEN, We heard that Mary and Martha find to tomb empty!
Peter actually went in the tomb and found only the wrappings. HOW CRAZY IS THAT!
??Do you think there was a lot of doubt?
How about fear?
These people followed Jesus when some thought He was going to overthrow the government.
That same war battles on in the heart of every human being.
We ask, “Is Jesus really the Messiah”?
Is the Bible true?
Is there only ONE way to God?
Paul addresses one of these doubts in 1 Corinthians 15:1-2.
There were some who carried on the belief from religious leaders that there was no resurrection of the dead.
Paul begins like this:
1 Corinthians 15:1–2 NKJV
1 Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you stand, 2 by which also you are saved, if you hold fast that word which I preached to you—unless you believed in vain.
1 Corinthians 15:1–2 RVR60
1 Además os declaro, hermanos, el evangelio que os he predicado, el cual también recibisteis, en el cual también perseveráis; 2 por el cual asimismo, si retenéis la palabra que os he predicado, sois salvos, si no creísteis en vano.

The Gospel MUST be believed, or it is in vain.

Because by it, we are saved. (vs 2)
It is ALL or NOTHING.
There is no Plan B.
Here is the Gospel as it pertains to Jesus’ work in 1 Cor 15:3-4
1 Corinthians 15:3–4 NKJV
3 For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures,
1 Corinthians 15:3–4 RVR60
3 Porque primeramente os he enseñado lo que asimismo recibí: Que Cristo murió por nuestros pecados, conforme a las Escrituras; 4 y que fue sepultado, y que resucitó al tercer día, conforme a las Escrituras;

Jesus is “God With Us”

Jesus fulfilled the prophecies of the Messiah
It was well known that He was crucified and buried
Then He shows Himself after rising to others in 1 Cor 15:5-7
1 Corinthians 15:5–8 NKJV
5 and that He was seen by Cephas, then by the twelve. 6 After that He was seen by over five hundred brethren at once, of whom the greater part remain to the present, but some have fallen asleep. 7 After that He was seen by James, then by all the apostles. 8 Then last of all He was seen by me also, as by one born out of due time.
1 Corinthians 15:5–8 RVR60
d. Jesus even, in Paul’s experience, met with Paul on the road to Damascus.
