Why Death?

Justice
God is the one who has given us life. What do you suppose happens to that life when we remove ourselves from God? Think about it in terms of a vacuum cleaner. What if one day you are vacuuming and the vacuum just says, “You know what? I’ve had enough of this. I‘m going to do things my own way.” Then unplugs itself? What will happen to the vacuum? Nothing, because it has removed the power source from itself. So what happens when we remove our source of life from ourselves? No more life. The difference is that God made our souls immortal and our souls must continue on somewhere. If we have removed ourselves from God then there is only one other place to go, hell.
Because of God’s grace and mercy, His steadfast love, Him being slow to anger, He doesn’t want us to be without Him. He wants what is best for us despite our best efforts to push Him away. But justice must take place. Who wants to live in a world that is not just? So, God sent His one and only Son, Jesus, to die for the world. Jesus took our place which then left us with a path to once again be plugged into our source of life.

The Resurrection

Glorified life
Jesus was alive but different, disciples didn’t recognize Him, He appeared then was gone again, but He also ate with the disciples, they touched Him. He was glorified.
Romans 6:5 ESV
For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we shall certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his.
Also
Romans 8:11 ESV
If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.

All Authority

Jesus had all authority because He paid the ransom for every soul with His blood. Yes, He created all things but now there was something different in our lives because of what Jesus did. Really what He was doing was giving authority back to us. At the creation of the world we were given dominion to rule the world. Then that crafty devil came in kicked us out of our chair of authority and he ruled the world. After Jesus’ death, justice had been dealt and God once again gave that authority back to us. So Jesus came in and said, “Hey, your car got repoed so I went and sold my car in order to get yours back. Now technically this is my car, but here are the keys because I want you to be about my work.” Jesus has the authority then hands it over to us to continue the work He was doing.

What Now

Now we carry on the work of Jesus to build His Church
Matthew 28:16–20 ESV
Now the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had directed them. And when they saw him they worshiped him, but some doubted. And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
