Opening Statement

We remember Good Friday because this is the day that Jesus Christ hung on the cross and paid the ransom for our sins IN FULL.
The week started by:
Palm Sunday - Jesus coming into Jerusalem on a donkey.
Monday - Jesus starts flipping tables because they selling and buying animals for sacrifice. Jesus tells them in Matthew 21:13
Matthew 21:13 NLT
13 He said to them, “The Scriptures declare, ‘My Temple will be called a house of prayer,’ but you have turned it into a den of thieves!”
Tuesday - Jesus Confronts the hypocrisy of the Jewish Leader:
They want to be treated by walking in big robes, sit in honorable seats, but yet cheat the widow
Pray for hours in public but don’t even live the life
Wednesday - Judas went to the leaders to betray Jesus
The fact he went to them
Because he allowed his flesh and greed to betray Jesus
I guess this is why they call it hump day because if we can make pass Wednesday then we can get to the Good Friday.
Thursday - The Last Supper with Jesus and when Peter denies him.
Which leads up to today Good Friday.
Talk about how exciting Fridays were:
School - Friday’s was a goal for the students and teachers
Adult - Friday’s are pay day and for some no work UNTIL MONDAY.
But if we look at Jesus day and all he went through on Friday, it wasn’t to much of a Good Friday.

QUESTION IS “WHAT MADE THIS FRIDAY SO GOOD”

There is nothing that was good about how:
They nailed him on the cross
They gambled his clothes
They Mocked him
They tried to give him sour wine
But this is where it gets exciting…
Luke 23:39–43 NLT
39 One of the criminals hanging beside him scoffed, “So you’re the Messiah, are you? Prove it by saving yourself—and us, too, while you’re at it!” 40 But the other criminal protested, “Don’t you fear God even when you have been sentenced to die? 41 We deserve to die for our crimes, but this man hasn’t done anything wrong.” 42 Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your Kingdom.” 43 And Jesus replied, “I assure you, today you will be with me in paradise.”
I preached on LAST PALM Sunday called “ITS THE TEARS FOR ME”.
The text said “As Jesus approached Jerusalem he wept”
I pointed out that same people who was cheering for Jesus were the same people who miss God and miss the purpose for Jesus coming in Jerusalem
They were so wrapped on their NOW desires that they missed there eternal needs.
So now Jesus is in between two criminals who rightfully deserves every punishment. GUILTY AS GUILTY CAN BE
But there is a criminal who miss the opportunity to recognized Jesus for who he is.
Instead the criminal wanted he freedom now.
BUT THE OTHER CRIMINAL UNDERSTOOD THAT THIS WAS HIS LAST CHANCE TO BE SET FREE
The criminal was not concerned about his earthly freedom because he knew he deserved every punishment
Luke 23:40–42 NLT
40 But the other criminal protested, “Don’t you fear God even when you have been sentenced to die? 41 We deserve to die for our crimes, but this man hasn’t done anything wrong.” 42 Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your Kingdom.”
LADIES AND GENTLEMEN , BOYS AND GIRLS “DO NOT MISS THE OPPERTUNITY ESPECIALLY WHEN IT STAND RIGHT IN YOUR FACE.
SO WHAT MADE THIS A GOOD FRIDAY FOR THE CRIMINAL IS
Because of his faith in God recognizing his Son Jesus Christ
That Friday was PAYDAY
Imagine you are always late on your house payment,
Racking up late fees, Dont know how you are going to pay your debt
But one Friday evening When you check your balance it says “PAID IN FULL”
THIS HOW THE CRIMINAL FELT WHEN HE HEARD THIS WORDS FROM JESUS LUKE 23:43
Luke 23:43 NLT
43 And Jesus replied, “I assure you, today you will be with me in paradise.”
WITH JESUS WE DON’T HAVE INSURANCE POLICY ,
WHERE WE ARE ONLY COVERED BASED ON OUR PAYMENT
BUT JESUS GAVE THE CRIMINAL AN ASSURANCE POLICY WHERE THE ONLY PAYMENT REQUIRED IS FATIH.
THE CRIMINAL DIDN’T HAVE TIME TO GET BAPTIZED
DIDNT HAVE TO MAKE A SACRAFICE
HE DIDN’T HAVE A CHANCE TO DO GOOD BY WORKS
THE ONLY CHANCE HE HAD WAS TO BELIEVE AND CONFESS HIS BELEIF
AND NOT MISS THE BIGGER PICTURE
THAT A TERRIBLE FRIDAY BECAME A GOOD FRIDAY FOR THE CRIMINAL
WHICH MADE EVERY SINGLE DAY GOOD FOR ALL WHO BELIEVES.
LAND THE PLANE
IN THE BEGINNING WHEN GOD WAS CREATING THE WORLD EVERYTHING HE MADE HE SAID IT WAS GOOD. THAT DAY WAS COMPLETE
JESUS LAST WORDS “IT IS FINISHED”
I BELIEVE THAT WHEN JESUS SUBMITTED HIS OWNSLEF AS A SACRAFICE FOR OUR SINS AFTER ALL WAS DONE GOD SAID “IT IS GOOD”
