Robert, pass over! Matthew 6:14-15 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. Tonight, thousands will begin celebrating the feast of Pesach (Passover), the day we remember God's merciful redemption of the Jewish people from Egypt. When the final plague struck Pharoh and the Egyptians in Exodus, those who were spared were the ones who applied blood to their doorposts as God warned. Interestingly, the blood that God required them to apply then was the blood of a spotless, unblemished lamb. As believers in Messiah, we are blessed to have the blood of Yeshua (Jesus), our Passover Lamb, applied upon the doorposts of our hearts. The judgment we deserve has passed over us! And thankfully we can celebrate His redemption in our lives as well this season. While this is a special time to celebrate God's passing over our sins, there is one thing we sometimes overlook. Not only should we remember the Lord's passing over our sins, but equally important is our obedience in passing over others' sins. Forgive our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. This is the way Yeshua taught us to pray, is it not? Today we have the opportunity to make this prayer a reality in our lives. Has someone offended you? Committed a sin against you? It happens, and unfortunately, it will probably happen again, as we live in a world full of sin. But we need to pass over those offenses just as God has passed over ours. Robert, Passover is the season to give our hurts to the Lord. Let's allow Him to heal and free us, and those we've hurt and who've hurt us. We have been forgiven many offenses by the innocent blood of our Messiah. How much more should we forgive? Your family in the Lord with much agape love, George, Baht Rivka, Elianna & Obadiah Fairhope, Alabama
John 13:31–14:6 (NASB95) — 31 Therefore when he had gone out, Jesus said, “Now is the Son of Man glorified, and God is glorified in Him; 32 if God is glorified in Him, God will also glorify Him in Himself, and will glorify Him immediately. 33 “Little children, I am with you a little while longer. You will seek Me; and as I said to the Jews, now I also say to you, ‘Where I am going, you cannot come.’ 34 “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another.
When God gives a promise along with the commandments Jesus brings the believer into places where his faith will be tested. the question will be are you going to believer or are you going to
Jesus gives the marching orders.
was it to die?
was it to sweat?
was it to give away everything?
was it to live a good moral life?
no. One commandment to love one another
and here it is that Peter dismisses the not so small thing to love and say I will give up my life.
There is not enough faith to lead to us to die on the cross if the love is not there. Peter would not have enough love for Jesus to endure the cross he will deny the Lord not once but three times
the denial was much of a failure but a demonstration of the truth.
and it was three times that Jesus asked People do you love me
the cross was not a failure it was not a victory for satan but a victory for Christ. Jesus came through the hate and vile hatred not despite of the hatred and oppositon but through it.
35 “By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” 36 Simon Peter said to Him, “Lord, where are You going?” Jesus answered, “Where I go, you cannot follow Me now; but you will follow later.” 37 Peter said to Him, “Lord, why can I not follow You right now? I will lay down my life for You.” 38 Jesus answered, “Will you lay down your life for Me? Truly, truly, I say to you, a rooster will not crow until you deny Me three times. 1 “Do not let your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me. 2 “In My Father’s house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. 3 “If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also. 4 “And you know the way where I am going.” 5 Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, how do we know the way?” 6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.
The disciples were sad and lonely, because jesus was going away and prior to dying upon the cross this is what they heard Jesus say
Let not your heart be troubled
Throughout the year we have probably seen our share of mortal conflicts. It included all kinds of words of hatred and vileness. Words that dripped with contempt for each other.
the conflicts may have been between family members. Husbands against wife, wife against Husband children against parents and parents their children. May have been coworkers and even between friends. We might dismiss it as drama and silly but these are serious matters.
In a heated a personal conflict on loved one says to the other, “By what you did, or what you said, ruined my weekend, ruined my life, ruined my marriage.” maybe so, but on this weekend on this day that we celebrate, who nulls out that which was ruined and makes it right?
The strained relationship with man is just a small example of the disunity and disfunctionality which exist within the world not as God had willed or designed it but as a result of the destroyer who seeks to tear down all that the Lord had created and said that it was good, very good.
Personal relationship are not disconnected from the whole but only a small skirmishes. the bigger battle is throughout the world, the wars and rumor of wars. the breakdown of righteous norms and standards. the uncertainties which exist in this world with famines and pestilence and it is only getting worse.
and then that even is a smaller world that is part of the greater battle which is the Angelic conflict which really started it all. the fall of Satan and His angels even prior to the creation of man.
Truly if God exist… why is this so. where is God? where did Jesus go? what is he doing? when will he settle the matters.
Going away was no new information for the disciples. They were aware that that day was coming. that Jesus was going to leave them. (not die, but go away from where they were)
Going away meant His absence. It had to preceed the glorious return.
The cross nulled out every thing that Jesus said in the hearts of his disciples.
Christ loved us so much, that not even death would null out not a single promise of the Lord that he make with his beloved
Do you realize that Jesus did not chastise or reprimanded any one. He (i think that he playfully) answered Thomas’ unbelief by telling him to come put his hand in the holes of his hands and side
he did not approach the pharasees his enemies and crack down on them. He cooked up some fish for the folks
any one of us would have the moment coming out of the tomb would be ready to shove one’s unbelief and their hatred and vileness back into their face ready to give them their comeupness
but no he didn’t he loved and preached. the veil was ripped not just for his friends but for his enemies and it was open for them to repent. It said you meant it for evil but Jesus meant it for good.
come my brothers come. come please come those who hated me and scurged me. come you who took that spear and thrusted into my side. come those who tried to trip me up.
