John 8:4–5 (NKJV)
“Teacher, this woman was caught in adultery, in the very act. Now Moses, in the law, commanded us that such should be stoned. But what do You say?”
John 8:7 (NKJV)
“He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first.”
John 8:10 (NKJV)
When Jesus had raised Himself up and saw no one but the woman, He said to her, “Woman, where are those accusers of yours? Has no one condemned you?”
John 8:11 (NKJV)
And Jesus said to her, “Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more.”
Jesus wept.
But Martha was distracted with much serving, and she approached Him and said, “Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Therefore tell her to help me.”
Then she ran and came to Simon Peter, and to the other disciple, whom Jesus loved, and said to them, “They have taken away the Lord out of the tomb, and we do not know where they have laid Him.”
But Mary stood outside by the tomb weeping, and as she wept she stooped down and looked into the tomb.
And she saw two angels in white sitting, one at the head and the other at the feet, where the body of Jesus had lain.
Then they said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping?” She said to them, “Because they have taken away my Lord, and I do not know where they have laid Him.”
Now when she had said this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing there, and did not know that it was Jesus.
Jesus said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you seeking?” She, supposing Him to be the gardener, said to Him, “Sir, if You have carried Him away, tell me where You have laid Him, and I will take Him away.”
Jesus said to her, “Mary!” She turned and said to Him, “Rabboni!” (which is to say, Teacher).
“. . . . go and tell my disciples that I have risen.”
“ . . . go and tell my disciples that they are forgiven.”
“ . . . go and tell my disciples that I have the keys to Hades and the grave.”
Jesus said, “Do not hold on to me, for I have not yet returned to the Father. Go instead to my brothers and tell them, ‘I am returning to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’ ”
The very first good news given on the morning of the Resurrection Sunday was not “Jesus is Risen!” It was "Now you can enjoy a new relationship.”
The very first good news given on the morning of the Resurrection was not about receiving God’s forgiveness, instead it was about becoming a part of God’s family.
But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law,
to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons.
And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, “Abba, Father!”
Therefore you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.
“I once was an outcast,a stranger on earth, A sinner by choice, and an alien by birth! But I've been adopted, my name's written down, An heir to a mansion, a robe, and a crown. I'm a child of the King, a child of the King! With Jesus, my Savior, I'm a child of the King!”
