WholeHearted

Your heart beats over 100,000 times a day
Your heart pumps 1.5 gallons per minute. That adds up to about 2000 gallons per day
There are 60,000 miles of blood vessels in your body. Thats enough to go around the world twice.
Other than the cornea, every other cell in the body gets blood from the heart.
The right side of your heart pumps blood into your lungs. The left side of your heart pumps blood back through your body.
The most number of heart attacks occur each year on Christmas Day. The day after Christmas and New Year's Day are close behind.
More heart attacks happen on a Monday than any other day of the week.
Heart disease is the number 1 cause of death in the United States.
The heart is pretty important and is pretty amazing.
Our heart affects all of us.
The bible says
Proverbs 4:23 NLT
Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.
Proverbs 4:23 NIV
Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.
We can probably all agree that many things occupy our heart.
In our heart we hold our family, loved ones, things we love and enjoy. Our hearts are also the carriers of love and peace. We give from our heart. We give love we give life. Our heart is the place we store our treasures.
In our hearts is our work, our self value, our hope.
Its pretty important.
But our hearts can also gather clutter, and some unwanted things.
Circumstances and situations in life can flood our hearts and leave us in bad shape. Our hearts can grow sick and even stop beating...
Pain, regrets, failures, insecurity, Hurt, fear, suffering.
We can hold unforgiveness and resentment, we can hold hatred and envy
We can get lost and confused. Not knowing what to do.
Is there any hope? Is there any way out? How do I deal with life when things go wrong or don’t work out?
What should I do when my prayers aren’t answered
When I don’t feel God near me?
When all has failed me?
Proverbs 27:19 NLT
As a face is reflected in water, so the heart reflects the real person.
So what does this have to do with resurrection day?
Jesus defeated sin and death. The very thing that were meant to stop the heart. Stop life from flowing… The muscle that pumps life through our veins.
Jesus came back to life.
Jesus was falsely accused
Beaten, abandoned by the ones he loved.
Ridiculed, mocked. Suffered pain and anguish.
To the point of feeling like God His father had abandoned him
Mark 15:34 NKJV
And at the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, “Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?” which is translated, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?”
Yet He knew it wasn’t over. He knew that He had to complete the job He was sent to do.
He was sent to prevail! to overcome, defeat all the things that we had no chance of surviving He made a way! He became the way.
1 Corinthians 15:55–57 NKJV
“O Death, where is your sting? O Hades, where is your victory?” The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
The Good news today is that what ever the thing in our hearts that is causing us trouble and grief. Jesus defeated!
There is absolutely nothing that can separate us from His love.
Romans 8:31 NKJV
What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?
Romans 8:32 NKJV
He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?
Romans 8:33 NKJV
Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies.
Romans 8:34 NKJV
Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us.
Romans 8:35 NKJV
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
Romans 8:37 NKJV
Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.
Romans 8:38 NKJV
For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come,
Romans 8:39 NKJV
nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
The Story of why the Titanic Sank
The Titanic thought it was safe. It was designed with 16 Compartments that included doors that could be closed from the bridge, so that water could be contained in the event the hull was breached. The ships builders claimed that four of the compartments could be flooded without endangering the liner’s buoyancy. They system led many to claim that the Titanic was unsinkable.
When it sank in April of 1912 it was presumed that more than four compartments were breached.
Only in 1985 were they finally able to take a close look at the sunken vessel and what they found was very interesting. They didn’t find a long gash that would have breached many compartments
Although they were presumed to be watertight, the bulkheads were not capped at the top.
So all it took was one of the compartments to take in water and eventually once it was full would spill over into the next one and so on...
Our heart is the same.
We were all created to live life wholeheartedly, We were created to live forever. sin and death stopped that. Jesus restored us!
