Friends, counting the omer and your blessings!
Leviticus 23:15-17 “You shall count seven full weeks from the day after the Sabbath, from the day that you brought the sheaf of the wave offering. You shall count fifty days to the day after the seventh Sabbath. Then you shall present a grain offering of new grain to the LORD. You shall bring from your dwelling places two loaves of bread to be waved, made of two-tenths of an ephah. They shall be of fine flour, and they shall be baked with leaven, as firstfruits to the LORD.
In the Tenach (Old Testament), the Lord commanded Israel to count the Omer (the Barley Harvest) beginning the day after the sabbath during Passover, 50 days to the Biblical Festival of Shavuot (Pentecost). Today is the 4th day of the Omer and Shavuot is just a few weeks away...
A remarkable fact is that for nearly 2000 years the Jewish people had no homeland, and no harvest to count – yet they continued to count the Omer, counting a harvest that did not exist. Then, about 130 years ago a historical miracle began as the Lord drew the Jewish people back to their ancient homeland, the land of Israel. The land was revived from being a dusty desert, and the barley harvest was restored, (as well a multitude of other crops), so that now, the Omer is counted as it was in ancient times, with an actual harvest!
Now, if the Jews in diaspora (dispersion) could count the days of a non-existent harvest, in expectation of a divine blessing which they earnestly hoped for, then they set an excellent example for us who trust in the Messiah they gave to the world. Since faith is the conviction of things NOT seen, we, also, can begin to give thanks for blessings we're praying for but have yet to receive. Our unsaved loved-one, chronic illness, broken relationship, financial disaster, loss of vision.....all these are trials which are testing and maturing our faith.
We can rejoice in them, even as we give thanks in the expectation of victory, restoration, and a harvest of righteousness which is on the way. And may these come to many of us by Shavuot, this year (June 4th).
Friends, thank the Lord for the blessings you're about to receive -- they're on the way!
Your family in the Lord with much agape love,

And this is another fine day in the Lord
a surgeon opens up the patient to peer inside to find the problem in order to correct the issue which is ailing this person. It might be a tumor, it might be removing a bad kidney or heart surgery.
Jesus the Physician is opening up and peering inside the Samaritan woman to expose the problem and to bring healing.
John 4:15 (NASB95) — 15 The woman said to Him, “Sir, give me this water, so I will not be thirsty nor come all the way here to draw.”
Adam and his wife was free to simply reach up into the tree to recieve their food prior to the fall. then Adam had to work by the sweat of his brow.
the ground would not even produce for Cain who was a farmer after killing his brother.
this also brings to mind those who had rejected the mana. the people in the wilderness had all what God had provided. the Manah was waiting for them to simply collect day by day. but they complained and wanted meat. so then God sent quail. this they had to chase capture clean cook, it was laborious to fix a meal. what suffered was the relationship with yahweh. rather than having time to worship they had to laboriously work for their meals.
the Samaritan woman labored day by day in order to care for the body. that was her focus. if she did not work, she did not eat.
now here comes one who is offering living water in abundance and that which is a gift of God that leads to eternal life.
It is this Living water springing up to eternal life which is the gift from God.
John 4:10 (NASB95) — 10 Jesus answered and said to her, “If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water.”
The woman does not know that this gift even existed or was able to yet know what the Lord is speaking of.
Ephesians 2:8–9 (NASB95) — 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; 9 not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.
Matthew 25:46 (NASB95) — 46 “These will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”
John 6:27 (NASB95) — 27 “Do not work for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give to you, for on Him the Father, God, has set His seal.”
she is alright with sitting aside her Pot and going to the living flowing water in order to sustain her. but she does not realize that this is the spiritual sustenance for the soul.
Point of Doctrine: the greatest need is the spiritual need, that is to be reunited with God through regeneration.
John 4:16–19 (NASB95) — 16 He said to her, “Go, call your husband and come here.” 17 The woman answered and said, “I have no husband.” Jesus said to her, “You have correctly said, ‘I have no husband’; 18 for you have had five husbands, and the one whom you now have is not your husband; this you have said truly.” 19 The woman said to Him, “Sir, I perceive that You are a prophet.
Enhanced Strong’s Lexicon 4396 προφήτης
4396 προφήτης [prophetes /prof·ay·tace/] n m
2 one who, moved by the Spirit of God and hence his organ or spokesman, solemnly declares to men what he has received by inspiration, especially concerning future events, and in particular such as relate to the cause and kingdom of God and to human salvation.
it is the prophet who speaks for God.
His declaration is...”Thus Says the Lord.”
This compares to Nicodemus
John 3:2 (NASB95) — 2 this man came to Jesus by night and said to Him, “Rabbi, we know that You have come from God as a teacher; for no one can do these signs that You do unless God is with him.”
except that Nicodemus did not want to go as far as Jesus being a prophet for Nicodemus would have to subordinate himself under the prophet who brought the message of the Lord, and Nicodemus was not going to do that.
for the woman, she was not apt to worship another even a prophet, so she had no problem with calling this one a prophet if that was what he is.
There is nothing hidden with this prophet, Jesus. it is God who knows every thing about every one of us. there is no hidding.
do you think that Jesus did not know as of yet that Adam took from the tree already when he questioned him?
Who told you that you were naked? did you eat from the tree that I told you not eat from.
Adam’s greatest concern was not seeking forgiveness but was seeking to hide his sin as if he could hide any details from the Judge. and then soon to blame the woman rather than confessing his sin.
God knows all details. He is omniscient. He knows ever sin past present and future, every mental attitude sin, every sin of the tongue, every overt sin. And for the sinner this is an Amen. For we do not have to busy ourselves trying to keep hidden our sins but we can lay them out on the table and have the adversary our Lord plead our case.
When Jesus went to the cross and died for our sins, every sin that had is known by God and was poured out on Jesus. every sin past present and future. Our sins were poured out on that sacrificial lamb on Calvary.
If one sin was skipped then we would be still lost in our transgression.
Proverbs 28:13 (NASB95) — 13 He who conceals his transgressions will not prosper, But he who confesses and forsakes them will find compassion.
Psalm 69:5 (NASB95) — 5 O God, it is You who knows my folly, And my wrongs are not hidden from You.
Hebrews 4:12–16 (NASB95) — 12 For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. 13 And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are open and laid bare to the eyes of Him with whom we have to do. 14 Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. 15 For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin. 16 Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
another alleluia point is the release of the pressure that is caught up in the soul of the one who is harboring the sin. with sin there is guilt, there is shame. these things people live with and seek desparately to have some kind of relief.
This was the first thing that the Couple in the garden recognized. they knew that they were naked and and they sought to hide the guilt and the shame. That was for one sin. the sin of taking from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. AS time passed there would be other sins and more sins. there are no isolated sins. and where Adam sought mask one sin his whole soul would be tormented.
Through out my life I have witness and evangelistic meeting. I walked the isle when I was 17. and while I was down front with others that went with me, I noted that a number were weeping their eyes out. there was this guy who we spoke quite a bit as the Lord was leading him through the door until one day as were talking his eyes were filled with tears.
what’s the tears all about?
the release of the guilt and shame that had been locked up for so long, being hidden from God and knowing that they were exposed to God. out in the open before God
Jesus answered the Pharisees regarding the sinner.
Matthew 9:12 (NASB95) — 12 But when Jesus heard this, He said, “It is not those who are healthy who need a physician, but those who are sick.
If the woman was to take part in this living water to be cleansed, she has to know what this living water is.
