The First Covenant
Had Regulations of Religious Service, Hebrews 9:1
Hebrews 9:1
Therefore indeed the first also having regulations of religious service, both the earthly holy
Regulations have to do with the standard by which things are done
Those shortly after the flood knew the regulations (ordinances) of God, Romans 1:32
and although they know the ordinance of God, that those who practice such things are worthy of death, they not only do the same, but also give hearty approval to those who practice them.
The uncircumcised keeping the regulations of the law, Romans 2:26
So if the uncircumcised man keeps the requirements of the Law, will not his uncircumcision be regarded as circumcision?
The regulations (ordinances) for the Christian, Romans 8:4
so that the requirement of the Law might be fulfilled in us, who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.
Regulations of the First covenant involved food, drink, and washings, Hebrews 9:10
since they relate only to food and drink and various washings, regulations for the body imposed until a time of reformation.
The First Tabernacle, Hebrews 9:2
The First Tabernacle, Hebrews 9:2

For there was a tabernacle prepared, the first, in which were the lampstand and the table and the prepared bread; this is called holy.
The Place for the Lamp stand, Exodus 25:37
“Then you shall make its lamps seven in number; and they shall mount its lamps so as to shed light on the space in front of it.
The Place for the Table, Exodus 25:23-24
“You shall make a table of acacia wood, two cubits long and one cubit wide and one and a half cubits high.
“You shall overlay it with pure gold and make a gold border around it.
The Prepared Bread, Exodus 35:30
Then Moses said to the sons of Israel, “See, the Lord has called by name Bezalel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah.
The Holy of Holies, Hebrews 9:3
The Holy of Holies, Hebrews 9:3
Hebrews 9:3
Indeed after the second veil there was a tabernacle called the Holy of Holies,
The Place Where the Ark of the Covenant Resided, Exodus 26:33-34
Exodus 26:33–34 (NASB95)
“You shall hang up the veil under the clasps, and shall bring in the ark of the testimony there within the veil; and the veil shall serve for you as a partition between the holy place and the holy of holies. “You shall put the covering (propitiation) seat on the ark of the testimony in the holy of holies.
Golden Altar of Incense, Ark of the Covenant, Manna, and Aaron’s Rod, Hebrews 9:4
having a golden altar of incense and the ark of the covenant covered on all sides with gold, in which was a golden jar holding the manna, and Aaron’s rod which budded, and the tables of the covenant;
The Cherubim and the Place of Propitiation, Hebrews 9:5
Hebrews 9:5
and above it were the cherubim of glory overshadowing the propitiation seat; concerning which not is now to speak according to a part.
Not speaking out from a part
When the complete things comes (full revelation), that which is of a part is rendered ineffective, 1 Corinthians 13:9-10
For we know in part and we prophesy in part;
but when the perfect comes, the partial will be done away.
Not judging in part to a festival or new moon or sabbath, Colossians 2:16
Therefore no one is to act as your judge in regard to food or drink or in respect to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath day—
The Religious Service of a Levitical Priesthood, Hebrews 9:5
The Religious Service of a Levitical Priesthood, Hebrews 9:5
The Priest Continually entered the First Tent Performing Religious Service, Hebrews 9:6
Now when these things have been so prepared, the priests are continually entering the outer tabernacle performing the divine worship,
The High Priest Entered the Holy of Holies Once a Year, Hebrews 9:7
but into the second, only the high priest enters once a year, not without taking blood, which he offers for himself and for the sins of the people committed in ignorance.
He did not enter without blood
He made an offering for Himself, Leviticus 16:11
“Then Aaron shall offer the bull of the sin offering which is for himself and make atonement for himself and for his household, and he shall slaughter the bull of the sin offering which is for himself.
Burning Incense to cover the covering seat, Leviticus 16:12-13
“He shall take a firepan full of coals of fire from upon the altar before the Lord and two handfuls of finely ground sweet incense, and bring it inside the veil.
“He shall put the incense on the fire before the Lord, that the cloud of incense may cover the mercy seat that is on the ark of the testimony, otherwise he will die.
He made an offering for the people, Leviticus 16:15
“Then he shall slaughter the goat of the sin offering which is for the people, and bring its blood inside the veil and do with its blood as he did with the blood of the bull, and sprinkle it on the mercy seat and in front of the mercy seat.
The Holy Spirit Revealing Through the Religious Services of the Levitical Priesthood that the way into the Holy of Holies was not yet revealed, Hebrews 9:8
The Holy Spirit is signifying this, that the way into the holy place has not yet been disclosed while the outer tabernacle is still standing,
This is a parable for today, Hebrews 9:9
Hebrews 9:9
which is a symbol for the present time...
These sacrifices could not make the worshiper complete in conscience, Hebrews 9:9
Hebrews 9:9
… Accordingly both gifts and sacrifices are offered which cannot make the worshiper perfect in conscience,
They relate only to food, drink, and various washings, Hebrews 9:10
since they relate only to food and drink and various washings, regulations for the body imposed until a time of reformation.
Christ is a Priest After a Different Priestly Order
Christ is a Priest After a Different Priestly Order
He Appeared as a High Priest of Good Things to Come, Hebrews 9:11
Hebrews 9:11
But when Christ appeared as a high priest of the good things to come ...
Through the Greater and Complete Tabernacle, Hebrews 9:11
Hebrews 9:11
... through the greater and complete tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this creation;
Through His Own Blood, Hebrews 9:12
and not through the blood of goats and calves, but through His own blood, He entered the holy place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption.
Through the Eternal Spirit He Offered Himself, Hebrews 9:14
how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without blemish to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
The Heavenly Tabernacle Had to Also be Cleansed with Blood, Hebrews 9:23
Therefore it was necessary for the copies of the things in the heavens to be cleansed with these, but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.
Christ Entered Heaven Itself to Appear in the Presence of God, Hebrews 9:24
For Christ did not enter a holy place made with hands, a mere copy of the true one, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us;
He put away sin by Sacrificing Himself, Hebrews 9:27
And inasmuch as it is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment,
The Law
The Law
Was a Shadow of the Good Things to Come, Hebrews 10:1
For the Law, since it has only a shadow of the good things to come and not the very form of things, can never, by the same sacrifices which they offer continually year by year, make perfect those who draw near.
If it could make a person complete the offerings would stop, Hebrews 10:2
Otherwise, would they not have ceased to be offered, because the worshipers, having once been cleansed, would no longer have had consciousness of sins?
It is not possible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sin, Hebrews 10:4
For it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.
Therefore God prepared a body for Christ through which sins would be sent away, Hebrews 10:5-8
Therefore, when He comes into the world, He says,
“Sacrifice and offering You have not desired,
But a body You have prepared for Me;
In whole burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin You have taken no pleasure.
“Then I said, ‘Behold, I have come
(In the scroll of the book it is written of Me)
To do Your will, O God.’ ”
After saying above, “Sacrifices and offerings and whole burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin You have not desired, nor have You taken pleasure in them” (which are offered according to the Law),
After Making the Sacrifice Christ Sat Down at the Right Hand of God - Showing it was a once for all sacrifice, Hebrews 10:11-12
Every priest stands daily ministering and offering time after time the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins;
but He, having offered one sacrifice for sins for all time, sat down at the right hand of God,
Where there is forgiveness of sin, there is no longer an offering, Hebrews 10:18
Now where there is forgiveness of these things, there is no longer any offering for sin.
The Heavenly Tabernacle
The Heavenly Tabernacle
Not Made by Humans, Hebrews 9:11
Hebrews 9:11
... through the greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this creation;
The Alter In Heaven, Isaiah 6:6
Then one of the seraphim flew to me with a burning coal in his hand, which he had taken from the altar with tongs.
The Laver in Heaven, Revelation 4:6, Exodus 40:30
and before the throne there was something like a sea of glass, like crystal; and in the center and around the throne, four living creatures full of eyes in front and behind.
He placed the laver between the tent of meeting and the altar and put water in it for washing.
The Holy of Holies in the Heavens, Revelation 15:8
And the temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God and from His power; and no one was able to enter the temple until the seven plagues of the seven angels were finished.
Describes Heaven Itself, Hebrews 9:24
For Christ did not enter a holy place made with hands, a mere copy of the true one, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us;
Christ Entered Heaven After His Death
Proclaimed with Authority to the Spirits in Prison, 1 Peter 3:19
in which also He went and made proclamation to the spirits now in prison,
He obtained Eternal Redemption, Hebrews 9:12
and not through the blood of goats and calves, but through His own blood, He entered the holy place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption.
Resurrected, Showing His Sacrifice was accepted, Romans 4:25
He who was delivered over because of our transgressions, and was raised because of our justification.
Lead Captivity Captive (After the Resurrection), Ephesians 4:8
Therefore it says,
“When He ascended on high,
He led captive a host of captives,
And He gave gifts to men.”
Christ offered His blood through the Eternal Spirit in the Heaven before God, Hebrews 9:14
how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without blemish to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
Christ Blood Continually Cleanses the Believer Today, 1 John 1:7
but if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.
