I. Humble Yourselves Or vs. 1-9

A. Edom had repented years ago (Jonah/Nineveh), but now generations later they had become arrogant!
B. Yahweh will humble them. They had crossed a line, no repentance allowed anymore. Gen. 6:3
Genesis 6:3 NASB95
Then the Lord said, “My Spirit shall not strive with man forever, because he also is flesh; nevertheless his days shall be one hundred and twenty years.”
C. Nothing that was hidden would remain, but their brave will cower, and wise men be destroyed. If we hide our sin, and do not repent, we will be exposed!

II. You Will Tumble vs. 10-14

A. Don’t praise God for the destruction of your enemies. You are no better then them. God will bring destruction on you (humble you) unless you repent.
B. Quit thinking you’re better than anyone else, because of that sinful attitude you will fall (tumble) Ezek 28:17
Ezekiel 28:17 NASB95
“Your heart was lifted up because of your beauty; You corrupted your wisdom by reason of your splendor. I cast you to the ground; I put you before kings, That they may see you.
C. Pray for people, those you don’t like, and show mercy to them. Quit enjoying their misery, if the tables were turned and you got what you deserve, how would that feel? Luke 6:27-28
Luke 6:27–28 NASB95
“But I say to you who hear, love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.

III. Sooner or Later vs. 15-21

A. Yahweh would eventually destroy Edom and restore Jerusalem.
B. Justice and mercy will happen in due time, don’t rush it, don’t meddle with it. Wait on the Lord, repent while there is time, and show mercy to everyone you can.
