LAY ASIDE WHAT WE WANT SO WE CAN GET WHAT JESUS WANTS

THE BEST PHRASE TO DESCRIBE WHAT IT MEANS TO BE A CHRISTIAN?? IT’S NOT ABOUT ME — CAME TO SERVE NOT TO BE SERVED

THE BEST THING WE COULD DO WITH OUR LIVES? LIVE A LIFE THAT SAYS IT’S NOT ABOUT ME BUT ALL ABOUT JESUS AND WHAT HE WANTS

Matthew 4:13 NLT

13 He went first to Nazareth, then left there and moved to Capernaum, beside the Sea of Galilee, in the region of Zebulun and Naphtali.

JESUS STARTS HEALING — MIRACLES — HEALS LEPERS

PEOPLE START GETTING UPSET — CAME FOR SINNERS… NOT PEOPLE WHO BELIEVE THEY ARE PERFECT

Matthew 8:14–15 NLT

14 When Jesus arrived at Peter’s house, Peter’s mother-in-law was sick in bed with a high fever. 15 But when Jesus touched her hand, the fever left her. Then she got up and prepared a meal for him.

JESUS STARTS DOING THIS OVER AND OVER AND PEOPLE DON’T LIKE IT — SIT AND TEACH BUT DON’T ACTUALLY DO ANYTHING — WE HAVE MADE CHRISTIANITY AND OUR LIVES THIS WAY

Matthew 13:53–58 NLT

53 When Jesus had finished telling these stories and illustrations, he left that part of the country. 54 He returned to Nazareth, his hometown. When he taught there in the synagogue, everyone was amazed and said, “Where does he get this wisdom and the power to do miracles?” 55 Then they scoffed, “He’s just the carpenter’s son, and we know Mary, his mother, and his brothers—James, Joseph, Simon, and Judas. 56 All his sisters live right here among us. Where did he learn all these things?” 57 And they were deeply offended and refused to believe in him. Then Jesus told them, “A prophet is honored everywhere except in his own hometown and among his own family.” 58 And so he did only a few miracles there because of their unbelief.

I BELIEVE JESUS WANT’S TO SOMETHING INCREDIBLE THOUGH EACH AND EVERY SINGLE PERSON IN THIS ROOM — WILL YOU BELIEVE IT? — THROUGH PEOPLE, A GROUP THAT RISES UP AND SAYS “IT’S NOT ABOUT ME… IT’S ABOUT JESUS”.

“I despaired at the thought that life would pass me by without seeing God move greatly in my life”

DOES ANYONE IN HERE WANT TO SEE JESUS DO SOMETHING GREAT THROUGH THEM? — IT DOESN’T MEAN YOU BECOME A PASTOR — JESUS can do something great though you as an athlete, banker, mom, business owner, musician… etc…

ALL IT TAKES IS SOMEONE SAYING IT’S NOT ABOUT ME — IM TAKING UP THIS CROSS DAILY

WHAT IF YOU STARTED PRAYING FOR YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY?

WHAT IF YOU STARTED BRINGING PEOPLE TO THE WELL WITH YOU EVERY WEEK?

WHAT IF YOU MADE YOUR PERSONAL TIME WITH GOD A PRIORITY?

YOU HAVE MORE POTENTIAL RIGHT NOW, AT THIS AGE THAN ANY OTHER TIME IN YOUR LIFE, TO SEE GOD DO SOMETHING INCREDIBLE THROUGH YOU… WILL YOU BELIEVE IT?

I DIDN’T DO THIS… I WASTED A LOT OF MY TIME IN HS. — WHAT IF YOU WERE DIFFERENT?
