Intro:
Are You Ready this morning? Are you prepared for Eternity? John was standing with an Angel when He saw Heaven
Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” Also he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.” And he said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. To the thirsty I will give from the spring of the water of life without payment. The one who conquers will have this heritage, and I will be his God and he will be my son. But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.”
John Sees these 2 Polar Eternities. On one hand he sees the new Jerusalem and a restored Earth. On the other He sees an everlasting torment. Burning with vengeance and fury.
It’s Heaven or Hell
It’s Heaven or Hell
I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse. Therefore choose life, that you and your offspring may live, loving the Lord your God, obeying his voice and holding fast to him, for he is your life and length of days, that you may dwell in the land that the Lord swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.”

And he said to me, “It is done!
Who Goes to Hell?
Anyone who does not walk in relationship with Jesus
Where is Hell?
I don’t know.
Who Goes to Hell?
But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.”
Those who do not stand with Christ. Those who refused to put their lives in Gods hands.
Murderers including those who have ever hated anyone.
Sexually immoral (Defined as any sexual activity that is not sex between a man and a women in Marriage) Everything is considered immoral according to the Word of God
Sorcerers, People who cast lots, play tarot cards, look to astrology or psychics or the Earth for Answers.
Idolaters, those who do not serve God alone. IE If you have ever put anything before God you fall into this category.
And Liars, If you have ever said anything that was not perfectly true. You are a liar according to the Law.
So basically Everyone that is not in relationship with Jesus
What happens? Lets read on:
The lake that burns with Fire and Sulfur. The Second Death
What is the Second Death?
What is the Second Death?
In Gods original Creation there was no Hell, or a need for Hell. Humans were not intended to go there. It was designed for Satan and His Demons.
You might say, I am not serving God now, ergo I am separated. Its not bad. I live my life and everything seems good.
Well, Yes and no.
You may be separated from Him in that you reject His salvation, but you are not separated from His love and grace. You see whether you serve Him or not here God still radically loves and protects you.
You are the beneficiary of Government. Of the Sun, of rain. Even of lack of Sinning. You see God restrains your Sin, even when you run from Him. He does not allow sin to blossom into the full and complete sinful state that is possible. You are also given grace to do good. that is from God. Every Good deed. If you reject Him and do good. It wasn’t you. It was God moving that allowed you to do that.
Therefore in Hell you are completely separated from God.
So No Mercy, Ever. No Grace. No relief. Just Despair
YOu devolve into whatever you heart wants.
you are not protected in anyway from any other evil Person.
YOu are lonely, depressed, and without any hope. It is a hopeless chasm. Without any kindness ever.
You think its bad now. you and cannot imagine the sheer terror of separation fully from the king.
Hell is heartbreaking to ponder. Lord Help us. Jesus right before he died when all the weight of Sin was on Him. In the midst of all His pain, His heart was God I am alone. Why have you forsaken me?
How could a loving God send anyone there?
How could a loving God send anyone there?
That is the thing. He doesn’t send us. We choose it. You see fundamentally hell is Eternal Separation from God. you choose it.
For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.
You say, we I prayed a prayer once. So? You choose to follow God once. and then ran after your own life for the rest of your time.
But i am a good person, a good christian. A good tither, servant, whatever?
“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’
Notice, Jesus doesn’t say: “you didn’t work hard enough.
“You didn’t spend enough time listening to worship music.”
“You didn’t read your bible enough.”
Nope, He says, get away I don’t know you.
You see church, It doesn’t what you and do. What matters is who do we know?
Closing
Hell is very much real.
There was a survey done 20 years ago that found that 65% of people believed they would go to heaven. .5% believed that would go to Hell
Even more startling than that was a study done by barna in 2020 that asked are you a christian? 60% of millennial's said yes. But when barnagroup drove deeper and asked? was Jesus Sinless? Did He die and rise again? Is the Bible true? When they started asking basic Christian theology? Do you believe this they said?
Only 2% of milennials said yes. 6% of adults in america.
For Some perspective if we represented all millennial. 1 person in this room would be a true believer. If we expanded that to all americans. 3 People would be believers.
Scary huh?
Are You walking with Jesus this morning? Do you believe that this book is His word? Do you believe He came and died and rose again for you?
Hell is very much real. It fire burns hot and eternally.
Do you know Him this morning? WE are going to take communion in a minute, but first
Is there anyone that doesn’t know Jesus or who stands on shaky ground?
Communion
And when the hour came, he reclined at table, and the apostles with him. And he said to them, “I have earnestly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer. For I tell you I will not eat it until it is fulfilled in the kingdom of God.” And he took a cup, and when he had given thanks he said, “Take this, and divide it among yourselves. For I tell you that from now on I will not drink of the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God comes.” And he took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.” And likewise the cup after they had eaten, saying, “This cup that is poured out for you is the new covenant in my blood. But behold, the hand of him who betrays me is with me on the table. For the Son of Man goes as it has been determined, but woe to that man by whom he is betrayed!” And they began to question one another, which of them it could be who was going to do this.
The Bread then the cup
