TRUST-FILLED PRAYER AND ENDURANCE
TRUST-FILLED PRAYER AND ENDURANCE
THE POINT: Christ-centered living chooses prayer, not hopelessness. Christ-centered living chooses perseverance through pain and trials.
1 Samuel 1:9-11, 17-18, 26-28, 2:1-3
God, Remember Me
Our dreams are often answered with disappointments
These were my high school & college dreams.. I chased my cravings. What I thought would satisfy me
Hannah longed desperately for a child, but was unable to conceive
Even now, I feel as if I have more God-honoring, aligned-to-his heart dreams that I await
Even godly dreams don’t get an automatic stamp as you come through the door
She brought her pain to the Lord- we should too
God Answers
When we experience pain, even Christians are often tempted to respond in unhealthy ways
Hannah, though at times she ways overwhelmed with grief, came to God
God answered, and He still answers today
Enduring through suffering
1 Peter
Respond with Praise
When God answered her prayer, Hannah naturally responded by praising God
We all have many blessings in our lives, and we can rest assured God is working blessing and suffering alike for His glory and our good, but we’re often ungrateful and even tempted to complain
We need to be intentionally aware of the good things God has given us, and choose to respond with praise and gratitude
