Serving Leftovers to a Holy God
Chapter 5
“Christ wants all of nothing at all”
I think that is a song speaking to the degree of commitment necessary to have successful relationships. .
careers.
it’s all or nothing
to serve the Lord in the way that He deserves, we have to be all in
It’s basketball season and I love basketball, my family loves basketball.
If I could, in would take the entire month of march off to fully submerge into march madness.
I wanna be all in.
Likewise as a fan, A Memphis Grizzly fan; we know the importance of being all in.
Ja Morant, who should be MVP of the NBA. . .
experienced a little criticism earlier in the season.
As the grizzlies was playing a home game there are fans everywhere, and this particular game. . .
there were some kids cheering for the griz but the apparel who suggest otherwise.
These kids had on steph curry’s jersey, he plays for the golden state warriors.
Ja comes into question because after he gets an and one opportunity, the crowd is going wild Ja gets close to the crowd and the kids with the steph jersey tried to High Five him, and he gave them the stare down because although they were cheering for the Grizz. . . the jersey showed they were not all in.
The life of a disciple has to be one that is all in. it is not enough for us to sit in the same seat and have perfect attendance for weekend worship.
.. it is not enough for us to be tuned in virtually just to say i’m present. . . .
We have to make this lifestyle real!
The great tragedy of Church and Christianity is that most of us are not all in.
Most of us are just Fans with an opposing team’s jersey on.
We love to clap when God moves in our lives or the lives of people around us.
We love to celebrate when God does the miraculous and answers prayers
we love to cheer when we are around other people cheering the glorious nature of the one who created the whole world. . .
BUT deep down, we are not convinced of the glory and majesty of God.
We have not been changed in a way that shows our loyalty to God
How do you know?
I see it in the way you parent
I see it in the way you haphazardly go about your work
I see it in how flippant we are about sin
I see it in the hypocritical nature of our lives
shame on us for being the fan with the opposing team’s jersey
So, we should not serve leftovers to a holy God
time and time again we see in the scriptures how easy it is for us to serve God what’s leftover
left overs-
buffet starts off fresh, but dries up
