Illustration- Occasions When I wanted to give up on Gods purpose but He said “Im not my own”.- “Never speak publicly” Wanted to never be a pastor of a church. “Never go to Africa again”

God knows what you were designed for. His word instructs and guides us to it and in it. Some christians have a purposelesws faith because they dont know o listen for and to His Word.

Word- Statement, Advice, Message, Command

Lamp Feet- Light for your step to Walking forward

Light- in contrast to darkness, Sun, daylight compared to the night, guidance, health, life, prosperity, enlightened judgment, and other positive things

Path- way, trail, path to travel

Psalm 119:105 (The Message) By your words I can see where I’m going; they throw a beam of light on my dark path.

Step By Step He Guides Me- Psalm 37:23 (NKJV) 23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, And He delights in his way.

Its one step after another. Sometimes walking by faith means only seeing each step and no further. 2 Corinthians 5:7 (NKJV) 7 For we walk by faith, not by sight.

Illustration- come to a dificult situation whwere I cant see ahead and I can only see one step ahead, That step has been to forgive, love when perhaps the recipient doesnt deserve it. I dont feel like loving but the step of faith is to love my enemies.

Walking is made up of many steps. So a life of walking by faith is made up of hundreds of steps of faith.

His Words Are Water To The Soul

Isaiah 55:10–11 (NIV) 10 As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, 11 so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.

Achieve the Purpose- prosper, an overwhelming power that causes a strong successful action.

Flourish- sprout with life and growth

All living things, from tiny to the large need water to survive. Without water, life as we know it would not exist. And life exists wherever there is water.

Man Is Designed To Live On Gods Words- Matthew 4:4 (NKJV) 4 But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’ ”

Alone- monos

Mono Christianity- Living only for material things and without Gods words to feed the spiritual person. Or a very limited diet of Gods Word

Every Word- Picky Eaters- They chose which scriptures they take and leave others because it doesnt suit their taste buds.

Bound Up Christians - Jesus Words Are Truth - John 8:31–32 (NKJV) 31 Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. 32 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
