Psalm 50:1–2 NKJV
1 The Mighty One, God the Lord, Has spoken and called the earth From the rising of the sun to its going down. 2 Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God will shine forth.
“called the earth” reffering to the inhabitants of the earth. Example, “all the earth had one language” Genesis 11:1
From one end of the earth to the other, from the east to the west God has called us.
we are in this place because, we have been all called by the same God.
All of us were called from different places, and banground, from different cultures and community. But that calling has led us to the same place, the Kingdom of God and the same person, the one true God Jesus Christ.
Look at your neighbour, you would never have met this person if you were not called by the same God.
THe calling of God is amazing, it can unite two people from different tongues, nations and bond them with unbreakable bond.

How has God called us, how does he call people

Acts 2:36–39 (NKJV)
36 “Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ.”
37 Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Men and brethren, what shall we do?”
38 Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
39 For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call.
From this time until today God is still calling people with the Gospel.
The door has not yet been closed.
Let us be thankful that God called us through this Gospel.
But The calling actually
2 Thessalonians 2:13–14 (NKJV)
13 But we are bound to give thanks to God always for you, brethren beloved by the Lord, because God from the beginning chose you for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and belief in the truth,
14 to which He called you by our gospel, for the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Before God called us through the Gospel, he had chosen us to obtain salvation through the sanctification of the spirit and belief in the truth.
At the begining of our existence, while we were yet in our mothers womb, while our body parts were not yet formed, God knew us and chose us
Before we were in the thoughts of our father and Mother, we were in the mind of God
Before we were in the plans of our parents we were already in God’s plan.
Jeremiah 1:4–5 (NKJV)
4 Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying:
5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.”
This calling is what we were created for, this is our purpose, this is our life.

Our calling is a calling of hope.

Ephesians 1:18–19 NKJV
18 the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, 19 and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power
Look at this hope in two aspect.
Hope in this life.
No matter the circumstance we face, those whom God has called always have hope.
The people of Israel felt like they were rotting away in Egypt, as slaves. Though it seemed that their situation was hopeless, they were not without hope because they were called of God.
Because of God’s calling in your life, in hopeless situation you still have hope. Where other people don’t have hope you have hope.
Hope in the life that is to come: ultimate hope
1 Cor 15:19 “19 If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men the most pitiable.”
It is not in this life only we have hope in Christ.
Ephesians 4:4–6 (NKJV)
4 There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling;
5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism;
6 one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.
We were called with one hope with our calling
What is this one hope.
Romans 8:22–25 NKJV
22 For we know that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs together until now. 23 Not only that, but we also who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for the adoption, the redemption of our body. 24 For we were saved in this hope, but hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one still hope for what he sees? 25 But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance.
There is something that this calling has caused us to hope for.
This calling come with this one Hope, the redemtion of our bodies.
That our vile body may be transformed into his glorious body.
1 John 3:2–3 (NKJV)
2 Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.
3 And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.
We have great hope

We are called to glory

1 Thessalonians 2:12 (NKJV)
12 that you would walk worthy of God who calls you into His own kingdom and glory.
We have been called to glory
phil 3:14 “14 I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”
This calling bring one out of obscurity to glory.
the fishermen with the calling of God, eventually found their names written in the twelve foundations of the gates of Jerusalem.
The end of our calling is glorious

We are called with a holy calling

1 Timothy 1:8–9 NKJV
8 But we know that the law is good if one uses it lawfully, 9 knowing this: that the law is not made for a righteous person, but for the lawless and insubordinate, for the ungodly and for sinners, for the unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers,
God’s calling comes with a comand to be holy
1 Pet 1:15 “15 but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct,
1 THe 4:7 “7 For God did not call us to uncleanness, but in holiness.
God’s calling bring you out, it does not let you stay where you are.
When God called Abraham, he told him to come out from his country, from his relative, family to a land that he will show him
Hosea 11:1 “1 “When Israel was a child, I loved him, And out of Egypt I called My son.”
God called the israelite out of Egypt into the wilderness.
2 Corinthians 6:17–18 (NKJV)
17 Therefore Come out from among them And be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, And I will receive you.”
18 “I will be a Father to you, and you shall be My sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.”

We must live worthy of this calling

Ephesians 4:1–3 (NKJV)
1 I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called,
2 with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love,
3 endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
Judas was called, because he did not walk worthy of that call he was rejected.
Esau was called because he did not walk worthy of that call, he lost his calling.
Let us walk worthy of the call.
