They Knew Not It Was Him

They Knew Not that it was Jesus.

Mary Magdalene knew not that it was Jesus – And when she had thus said, she turned herself back, and saw Jesus standing, and knew not that it was Jesus. John 20:14

At least 7 disciples knew not that it was Jesus – But when the morning was now come, Jesus stood on the shore: but the disciples knew not that it was Jesus. John 21:4

The two on the road to Emmaus knew not that it was Jesus – But their eyes were holden that they should not know him. Luke 24:16.

The world knew not God – (For after that/in the wisdom of God) the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe. 1 Corinthians 1:21.

Howbeit then, when ye knew not God, ye did service unto them which by nature are no gods. (Galatians 4:8) - And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. (2 Corinthians 11:14). So Praise GOD for the foolishness of preaching.

So now, having heard much Preaching, we think we know Him. I promise you this much, if you are not spending time with Him, you do not know Him, and the amount of time you spend with Him will be a reflection of how well you know Him.

Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; 32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. John 8:31-32.

You say you know Him, declaring, He has forgiven me; He’s, my Saviour.

What do you know of His Love, His Compassion, His Holiness, and His Kingship?

· Love?

o If all you know of His love is John 3:16, you are missing the depths of His love.

· Compassion?

o If all you know of His compassions is that He healed many people, then you are missing out on the healing He has for you – OH, and it’s not always about the physical.

· Holiness?

o If all you know is that He is holy, you know nothing of His Holiness

§ 1 Chronicles 16:29 Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name: bring an offering, and come before him: worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.

§ Without Him, there is no holiness, there is no beauty.

· Kingship?

o If all you know is that He is King of Kings, you are missing His majesty!

§ He is the King of Jacob; He is the King of Israel. (Isaiah 41:21/44:6)

· He is the King of the Jews – Matthew 2:2

§ Psalms 24:10 Who is this King of glory? The LORD of hosts, he is the King of glory. Selah.

§ Psalms 47:7 For God is the King of all the earth: sing ye praises with understanding.

§ Psalms 74:12 For God is my King of old, working salvation in the midst of the earth.

§ He is the King of Righteousness; He is the King of peace. Hebrews 7:2

§ He is King of the Saints. Revelation 15:3

§ Revelation 17:14 These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.

Hosea said, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge” (4:6), but Jesus said, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; 32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. John 8:31-32.
