Text: Luke 10: 25-37
Introduction: I’m the kind of person that addresses situations head on. I don’t sugar coat or stray away from topics just because they may be unpopular things to talk about. Some people may disagree with me, and that disagreement may produce resentment, which may lead to anger which may turn people away. Actually, thats basically what I want to talk about today. It is easily noticeable that this world has become extremely divided. Races against other races. Religions against other religions. People against people simply because of disagreements, or they way we look, the way we talk, what we believe. God never intended for humanity to be divided. He intended humanity to be united.
Lets use this parable to get a better understanding of how God intended us to treat one another.

(Chains, object lesson)
1. Holding onto division
2. Let it go
Conclusion: Jesus ends the parable by saying Go and Do Likewise. We spend so much of our lives being angry and offended over every little thing. We have to have our opinions heard, everyone else is wrong if its not what you believe. The devil doesn’t even need to cause division because humanity promotes division all on its own. But Jesus told us that we should be like the good Samaritan, we should be a good neighbor and love one another, help one another. There is no need to allow insignificant things to destroy the unity that God intended us to have. So I challenge everyone listening today to stop holding onto bitterness, stop allowing yourself to be offended time and time again. I challenge you to look passed people’s religion and race an instead look beyond and see how God see’s us. As his creation, washed and covered in the blood of His son, so all God sees is red, all He see’s is Jesus. So all we should see in each other is Jesus as well. So don’t let this world divide us, there is only one race, Humanity.
